In recent months, projects have been launched including Mark Waid's Thrillbent, Steve Niles, Brett Gurewitz and Matt Pizzolo's Black Mask Studios and Chris Roberson's Monkeybrain Comics.

Brandon posted a link to the teaser at the bottom of an article in which he outlined the inherent weakness of comic book movies compared to the source material.

"Big as these movies we're seeing this summer are, (and they're gigantic): they aren't big enough," he wrote on his blog.

"It's a world of limits: you can see the confines of the sound stage. The actors fall and fly with as much implied abandon as the safety guidelines allow. The magic doomsday gadget rips a hole in the ceiling and the universe rains through, just exactly the size of the hundreds of thousands of hours and dollars that built it."

He called these movies "abridged" versions of the comics they are based on, and also accused creators of toning down their comics to make them more convenient for big-screen adaptations.

No more details about Offset Comics have been released.
