Mark Millar's Jupiter's Children has been delayed until next spring.

The 12-issue series was originally scheduled to be published by Image Comics next month, but is thought to have been postponed due to artist Frank Quitely's schedule.

Bleeding Cool broke the news after acquiring the latest issue of Supercrooks ahead of release. The Marvel Comics title features a preview of Millar's upcoming series with the new release date listed.

Jupiter's Children focuses on young superheroes daunted by the prospect of succeeding their parents as crime-fighters, set against a futuristic backdrop with aliens, robots and high-tech vehicles.

"I think there's something sad and quite unique where these ten or 20 slightly damaged super-people feel they can never live up to their parents," Millar told CBR. "And something even more tragic about the parents recognising that their children, in many ways, are their failures."

Millar and Quitely, who previously worked together on DC Comics' The Authority, are now expected to reveal the title at next year's Kapow! Comic Convention.
