Writer Rick Remender revealed that the superhero team will do battle with established series antagonist Red Skull, as well as Kang the Conqueror and Apocalypse in the comic.

"Some of the plans that we have for Red Skull are going to be pretty Earth-shattering," Remender said. "You're not going to see his ultimate goal for a year or so, but you'll see it percolating."
The Uncanny Avengers team roster includes Havok, Rogue, Wolverine, Scarlet Witch, Captain America and Thor, with more members to be confirmed ahead of the comic's launch.
Uncanny Avengers is one of three titles spearheading the Marvel NOW! initiative, along with All-New X-Men and the relaunched Avengers.
Uncanny Avengers #1 will debut on October 10.
