Despite an impressive overall increase in comics and graphic novel sales, the number of comics with sales over 1,000 continues to decline, according to figures from ICv2.
Out of the ongoing titles in the top 25 bestsellers, only Amazing Spider-Man and Aquaman posted increased circulations.
The top two bestselling titles of the month were issues #9 and #10 of Marvel Comics' event miniseries Avengers Vs. X-Men.
The month saw only four titles with sales of over 100,000 units, down from five in July and eight in June.
Overall, direct market sales of single issue titles were up almost 20% and graphic novels rose by 15%.
Batman #12 overtook Justice League in sales despite the latter's much publicised kiss between Wonder Woman and Superman.
