Neil Gaiman has thrown his support behind All Hallow's Read.
The Sandman creator has filmed a video encouraging people to share scary books with their friends and family over Halloween as part of the 'new tradition'.
"It's going to be a tradition," he says. "In ten years' time, everybody is going to be giving somebody else, or lots of somebody else's, a scary book for Halloween.
"But right now we're starting a tradition.
"We're not saying don't give candy. Candy is important. Fake blood is important. Zombie teeth are incredibly... do they have zombie teeth?"
Gaiman will soon be returning to comics with a new Sandman prequel miniseries.
