Marvel Entertainment has joined forces with the Brooklyn Nets to design a new mascot for the team.
The comic company masterminded a superhero called BrooklyKnight, who will appear at all of the basketball team's home games.
Marvel has published BrooklyKnight #1 to coincide with the mascot's debut. The special one-shot is written by Jason Aaron and drawn by Mike Deodato.
"As a Brooklynite and a hardcore hoops fan, for me to get the opportunity to help create a superhero for my home borough's new team was a dream come true," said Marvel editor-in-chief Axel Alonso.
"Working with the Nets staff, we have created a team superhero that is unlike anything the NBA has ever seen; a timeless character who can stand shoulder to shoulder with icons like Spider-Man, Captain America, Wolverine, and Thor. Let's go, Nets!"
BrooklyKnight made his debut ahead of the game against Toronto Raptors at the Barclays Centre.
