The anti-hero will feature in his own comic as part of the publisher's 'New 52' slate after the Vertigo series wraps up, The AP reports.
Robert Venditti will handle writing duties on the new title with Renato Guedes providing artwork. The protagonist will be based on his incarnation in Justice League Dark, which debuted last September.
Venditti said: "He's going to be the same age that he is in Justice League Dark and the same character that people know and recognise - the drinking and smoking, the con man aspect of him - that's going to be very much part of the series.
"He is devious, he is underhanded and he's a very big-picture-oriented guy. When you're dealing with things like demons running loose on earth, you need to be that way."
Vertigo's Hellblazer, written by Peter Milligan with art from Giuseppe Camuncoli and Stefano Landini, will release its final issue in February, 2013.
