DC Comics pushes forward digital releases

DC Comics will release its weekly digital titles earlier in the day.

The publisher has confirmed the move following the surprise early arrival of its digital titles last Wednesday (November 14).

"The digital comics release timing today was not a glitch," DC Entertainment told Comicbook.com. "Our goal is to provide parity across all platforms, including release times."

comiXology previously operated an embargo until 2pm ET every Wednesday.

DC recently expanded its weekly digital offering to Apple, Amazon and Barnes & Noble's online stores.

Marvel's digital titles also arrived early last week, but a spokesperson for the publisher downplayed the event, claiming that a technical issue had been the cause.

DC has reported that its digital sales have tripled in 2012.
