'Batgirl' writer Gail Simone denies exit

Gail Simone has denied that she will leave Batgirl.

The writer has contradicted rumours of her departure from the DC Comics title that began with an article on Bleeding Cool.



"I have not left Batgirl," she wrote in response to a fan question on Tumblr.

Simone has been working on the title since it relaunched in September 2011 as part of DC's New 52.

She was also initially co-writing The Fury of Firestorm with Ethan Van Sciver before exiting the title after issue #6.

Simone has re-united with Secret Six artist Jim Calafiore to work on the Kickstarter-funded project Leaving Megalopolis.

Batgirl is currently involved in the Batman crossover 'Death of the Family'.
