The Unwritten writer is working on a creator-owned title - his first for the publisher.
He also told The Beat's Laura Sneddon in an interview for New Statesman that he is working on a zombie novel and a follow-up to The Steel Seraglio, the novel he wrote with his wife and daughter.
Carey teased a superhero comic at a "publisher I've never worked with before" early in January.
The former X-Men writer's comics output has been mainly limited to The Unwritten at Vertigo and his Madefire comic Houses of the Holy over the past year.
A crossover between Bill Willingham's Fables and The Unwritten was recently unveiled.
Carey promised that there is another development for the series "very close to being announced".
