The late underground comics creator and late Golden Age artist have been selected for automatic induction.
Four more inductees will be chosen from a shortlist of 13.
These include Marjorie 'Marge' Henderson Buell (Little Lulu), Howard Cruse (Stuck Rubber Baby), Lee Falk (The Phantom and Mandrake the Magician creator), Bud Fisher (Mutt and Jeff), Bill Griffth (Zippy), Al Jaffee (Mad Magazine contributor), Jesse Marsh (Tarzan), Tarpé 'June' Mills (Golden Age artist best known for Miss Fury, the first female action hero created by a woman).
The list is rounded off by 19th-century caricaturist Thomas Nast, Gary Panter (Jimbo), Trina Robbins (Vampirella), veteran Marvel Comics inker Joe Sinnott and Jacques Tardi (Adèle Blanc-Sec).
