'Brightest Day' artist Scott Clark dies, aged 43

Brightest Day artist Scott Clark has passed away at the age of 43.

The cause of the illustrator's death is unknown but his Grifter collaborator Frank Tieri noted on Twitter that he had been ill for some time, ComicBook.com reports.

Clark is best known for his work on DC Comics crossover event Brightest Day and WildStorm title StormWatch.

Tributes to the illustrator have flooded in following the news of his passing, with Joshua Fialkov, James Robinson, Colleen Doran and Cully Hamner among those paying their respects.

"Heartbroken over Scott Clark passing. Super sweet guy and a massive talent," I, Vampire scribe Fialkov wrote on Twitter.

"Just heard the news about Wildstorm alum Scott Clark. So, so sad. Heartfelt condolences to all his people," RED co-creator Hamner added.

Clark is survived by wife Kim and his son Andrew.
