In Norse mythology, the God of Mischief was occasionally transformed into a woman, sometimes unwillingly, sometimes in order to deceive others.

"Loki is bi and I'll be touching on that," Ewing wrote on Tumblr in response to a fan's question.

"He'll shift between genders occasionally as well."

Loki was temporarily transformed into a woman during J Michael Straczynski's Thor run, a fact that Thor: The Dark World star Tom Hiddleston recently addressed.

As announced at New York Comic-Con, Ewing will team on the new, espionage-themed title with Lee Garbett.

Loki: Agent of Asgard will arrive in February 2014.
