'The Walking Dead': Tony Moore sues co-creator Robert Kirkman

Tony Moore is suing The Walking Dead co-creator Robert Kirkman.

The artist claims that he was duped into transferring his interest in the hit franchise over to Kirkman, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The childhood friends, who have also collaborated on Brit and Battle Pope, launched The Walking Dead at Image Comics in 2003, with Moore illustrating the first six issues and the covers up until issue #24.

Moore, who filed documents at Los Angeles Superior Court on Thursday (February 9), says that he made a deal entitling him to 60% of the comics revenue and 20% of the TV/movie revenue.

He claims that he was tricked out of his interest in The Walking Dead after agreeing to sign it over to Kirkman, who he was told would not otherwise be able to complete his negotiations for the television series.

Moore alleges that he has not been allowed to see any profit statements from Kirkman or his company.

An attorney for Kirkman said that the case was "totally frivolous", adding: "Mr. Moore is owed no money at all. And Mr. Moore's contract has an attorneys' fees clause in it, so we will be going after him to collect attorneys' fees.

"We are taking this matter very seriously."
