The wrestler, who is an avid comic book fan, describes his writing style as "sarcastic and self-deprecating".
"I worked really hard to get to where I'm at and it's cool to be afforded opportunities like this. To me, it's hard work paying off and I'm having a lot of fun right now," he told USA Today.
"There's good and there's bad, but if you don't stop to smell the roses, so to speak, it's all for naught. If I had to describe my writing style, it's very sarcastic and self-deprecating. You'll be able to tell it in the foreword."
Marvel editor-in-chief Axel Alonso expressed his delight at having CM Punk on board, calling the intro he penned "brilliant".
He said: "Who understands the theatrical nuances of a good smackdown more than WWE champ CM Punk, who brings the same muscle and heart he brings to the ring to his brilliant intro for Avengers vs. X-Men."
