So sad I can’t believe Robert died he should have been given another chance. So will Alison return for the Third Series? She could get a new sidekick I wish the DVD of series two would hurry and come on shelves! Well I hope to see Afterlife on our screens again in late 2007. Very sad and emotional episode but I do not think this is the end of Afterlife. I expect to have the series go on for another 5 years. Making the show go on till its seventh series but that is only my opinion. Hope to see it back!

I cannot comment on this episode because I haven't seen it. My comment on the entire show would have to be a (5), however. I have only seen season (1) of the show on BBCAmerica because it disappeared from the TV line-up after the 1st season, vanished December 2006. I was wondering if the second and subsequent seasons will be shown on the BBCAmerica channel and if so when will they start?

Just watched both series on DVD over a period of a couple weeks. What can I say... utterly compelling viewing! Both lead actors are inspiring in their performances. This last episode brought it all together, and certainly brought the tears to our eyes.. so sad... yet uplifting! Like the previous comment.. I yearn for a third series, but perhaps its better to end it right there. With maximum impact. Marvellous TV. The likes of which doesn’t come along too often!

Really fantastic as all the episodes have been. Amazing acting, music, and drama. Please tell me they will be doing a third series!, even without Robert, they could make it work. I guess I was a little disappointed that it ended without a satisfactory resolution for Alison, I mean, she seemed to really have gotten nowhere over the course of the story arc. She ended up alone, unsure of her next move in life, and seemingly even more depressed. If they don't bring it back, it really will also feel like he died for nothing, as the overall story didn't really benefit from it IMHO, particularly as he had already come to terms with his sons death, and his son had 'crossed over' a while ago. The possibilities that are now available for a third series are endless, with him returning as a spirit guide, or her befriending someone else, of a totally different disposition. Please, please, please bring this wonderful show back for a third series!

In answer to recent posts on this site debating whether I "copied" Medium in writing Afterlife: answer is No! I first wrote Afterlife in about 1996 (along with the name "Alison") - it took ten years to get on the screen. I have no idea when Medium was first written, but I certainly never heard of it before or while I was writing Afterlife.

Very good episode - very sad Robert dying but at least he was with his beloved son again. Does this mean that is the end of Afterlife - could go on with just Alison but would be a natural conclusion.
