Agyeman 'chuffed' to be in 'Torchwood'

Freema Agyeman has revealed her delight at being asked to appear in Torchwood following her departure from its parent show Doctor Who.

The 28-year-old actress, who plays Martha Jones, told icWales: "She’s coming back and going to Torchwood. It’s an excellent idea. I feel really privileged and chuffed."

“A lot has changed in Martha’s life," Agyeman explained. "She’s finished her studies, there’s her new job, she’s in a relationship. She’s a lot harder because of everything she experienced but she is still the same person with the same connections.”

Agyeman returns for three episodes of Torchwood, starting with 'Reset' on BBC Two at 9pm on Wednesday, February 20.
