Episode Six

Gene Hunt and the team chase after two men on a bike who have robbed a post office, but they escape. The post office's owner is interviewed and he reveals that one man had a fondness for Robert De Niro impressions while the other fired his guns in a distinctive manner that makes Gene believe an old adversary called Chaz Cale was responsible. Meanwhile, Alex fears that she is dying in the real world as her body temperature is dropping.

Chaz Kale, now a chef, is brought in for interview and his wife Joan says that he cannot have been involved as he's now an epileptic and any adrenalin rush can kill him. Alex tries to tell Caroline Price that she is her daughter, but is unable to do so before her taxi arrives. She then takes Gene's car, without his permission, and brings bin bags back from the Cale residence for the team to sift through. Later, Shaz goes through Gene's bin and finds a sexually explicit drawing of her superior and Alex.

Chris and Ray observe a man called Billy doing a Robert De Niro impression in a pub, and they bring him and his young relative Donny in for questioning. They are quickly released, but Billy is shot dead later by a hitman and Donny, who witnessed the murder, tells Alex when she arrives on the scene that he has the money Billy stole from the post office.

Alex turns up at Chaz's restaurant to confront him, but is hit on the head by his wife Joan and dumped in the freezer. Joan admits that she was responsible for the hitman killing Billy, but when Gene turns up at the restaurant Chaz has an epileptic fit. The couple escape, but Gene manages to save Alex from death. They then throw an eighth birthday party for Donny at Luigi's restaurant.
