Lost fans are being urged to keep watching the island-based show, as creator J J Abrams promises a big finale to the second series.

The final episodes of the first series received somewhat mediocre reviews, although almost four million viewers tuned in for the start of the new series last week on Channel 4.

Speaking to scifi.com, Abrams revealed: "What happens for me is the greatest finale I have ever heard. The ending of this year in Lost blows the ending of the last series out of the water.

He added: "A lot of it has been there and has been building from the beginning of this series. It’s not out of the blue."
