A brilliant episode, great moments and shocking twists. Hiro punching Tracy was hilarious! I can't wait for the next volume. I still miss Elle though, I hope she comes back!

Ando didn't 'discover' his powers, he purposefully injected himself to get them. Nathan suddenly turning psycho though is very silly.

I don't understand how Heroes has managed to go from brilliant to absolutely terrible in the space of 4 or so episodes - and neither do I get how on Earth it could be given 3 stars for doing so. It's like they woke up one day and thought 'hey, you know that characterisation stuff we had going on before? Why not sod that and just let the characters do completely random stuff and stick on some half-arsed explanation later'. Sylar has gone from possible hero to an ultra-cheesy villain, capturing everyone so he can ask them stupid moral questions for no reason whatsoever; Tracy has gone from troubled innocent to scheming killer and is still making the decision to kill off Nikki look like the worst idea in the show's history; Clair's all over the place, and doesn't really have a character anymore, she's just random angst with legs. Nathan's the best though, one minute he's standing in the jungle and the next ... well I don't know if he saw a particularly upsetting tree or something, but he's suddenly decided that instead of all of that character work that's gone into him for 2 seasons, he's just going to flip on a dime and work with his dad for the hell of it. Of course, this decision was really explained in full by the fact that he'd furrowed his brow a few times before, which is all the exposition needed, apparently. Bad characterisation, bad plotting, bad dialogue. It's just possible that I'm quite annoyed at it.

The one thing I have to disagree with is Ando's power's being "convenient". Well, yes, they are, but they also make perfect sense. I was sitting watching it with my better half, and as Ando is about to inject herself, she flat out said, it's stupid if Ando gets time/space powers just because that is what he wants. True, it wouldn't be any fun having two friends with identical powers, but given that that is the power he experienced the most of, on several occasions, it would have made perfect sense that that woould be the way his body reacted to the formula. Instead, what of course happened is essentially, back-up powers. So far, he is little use on his own, but around anyone else with powers, he would be invaluable, which is a perfect metaphor for his character, and, since many of the character's powers are an analogy of their personality, it makes perfect sense. Again, yes, convenient for the plot, but also actually sensical. If it was, lets say, Noah that got given powers, enabling others would not be a likely power for him to gain.

Loved the episode apart from Ando's realisation of powers 'if you think it and have faith you will get the power you want' seemed so overly simplistic! Nathan has become what Sylar acted in series 1 - quite spooky. Is it wrong I have symapthy for Sylar? He's not pure evil he's complex and finds it easier to be evil...he wants a bit of love really and to get over his 'mommy and daddy' issues! Shame so many had to die...but death in Heroes can be fixed with a bit of time travel! I've loved this volume and look forward to the next, roll on February 2009! (Nathan is the big bad I suspect...) Four stars because of the Ando powers thing...but this explains him 'killing' Hiro....

I agree with most of the above review. I feel like i've missed a few episodes when comes to peter and nathan, even though i've seen them all, when did this bitter tension appear and is it really beliveable that Nathan would try and capture all those with powers, it seems to soon, maybe if they had a build up of all the hatred from him. Secondly loved the piece with Sylar, he's been the most consistent actor even when his character was changing, even though he's the bad guy the audience see's him in a new light, even though out of character for hero to punch tracy, i found it very funny to watch but maybe thats because i've never been a fan of Ali Larter's character from the beginning. Overall i think this chapter has been a mixed bag with some visually stunning and well written episodes and some meaningless plot devices the audience could see a mile off. Looking forward to the newest chapter and how its going to be developed especially now bryan fuller is back on board

I thought it was a pretty good episode but I was left feeling confused by the way Peter and Nathan fell out. Nathan, in particular, is emerging as a particularly weak individual - willing to change his mind very unexpectedly - with no respect for the friendships and relationships he had before. I can't believe he is going to have his brother, his daughter, his lover, his mother and several people who have saved his life hunted down. On the plus side, I enjoy the chemistry between Matt Parkman, Ando, Speedster and Hiro. George Takei looked very young in the episode - is it possible they have used CGI or just a lot of makeup and good lighting? No offence meant but we've seen George with no makeup recently and although he's great for his age, on Heroes just now he looked 20 years younger! Good to see him wield the katana again - I so wish they hadn't killed his character off but I suppose with time travel he can always come back again. Sylar - I almost feel loyalty for him. Sure, he's a murderer but I'm fast coming to conclusion that there's a bit of the monster in all of them.
