'Battlestar' actress promises shock finale

Battlestar Galactica actress Mary McDonnell has claimed that the "astonishing" mid-season finale will be a treat for devotees of the show.

McDonnell, who plays ailing President Laura Roslin, told TVGuide.com that the conclusion to the episode 'Revelations' is "an astonishing piece of work that will be really gratifying for the fans".

She said: "It's brilliantly done because it isn't the end and it doesn't give away the end, but it creates the beginning of the end, and that will be very, very powerful."

Galactica's executive producer David Eick added that the cliffhanger "definitely rivals the Season two 'one year later' shock". However, viewers will have to wait until early 2009 for the remainder of the fourth and final season to be screened.
