Wonderful ending BUT i had a feeling from season 2 that it would end up with US being the ancestors to the Caprica folks. Other than that this has been a stunning show which i'll re-watch again on dvd for sure.

I was a late comer to the show, i caught up over the past couple of months and now cant remember what i watched before it was on. Frakking great.
Gordon, Aberdeen on March 29th, 2009
Not sci-fi, was it. More Dynasty in Space.
Bronson, London on March 29th, 2009
Thank god that's finished. What a tedious, pompous, poorly acted clunker BSG was. And all these people starved of decent TV think it was quality drama.
Michael Crawley on March 29th, 2009
Having recorded it for later viewing, I was fortunate in that I didn't have to sit through 50% slushy crap that constituted this last episode. I fast forwarded through most of it. Even on FF some of it seemed to drag on endlessly, particularly scenes with that Roslin woman in it. I wondered how anybody could sit through it in real time. God how I was uplifted when she finally died. Given that we had been led to believe that the final episode was going to be a "bloodbath" with many major characters snuffing it, it was disappointing. The good bits were very good. The bad bits were unwatchable.

i liked it... that said it would have been nice to see just a tad more hint of the original bsg, but that again said this ending was better the Stargate voyager, deep space 9, quantum leap, stargate atlantis put together. long live the legacy of New BSG so say we all

Brillant end to an incredible show. It's such a shame that the winder viewing public will probably never watch such a well-written, excellently acted show purely because it has the 'sci-fi- tag. I feel like one of the lucky few to have shared the journey.
Jeff, Lancs. UK on March 28th, 2009
Bit of a let down for me in the last half hour or so. The actress who played Roslin was from the eyes do all the acting school, simpering is not acting. As a series I enjoyed the journey, there were many good performances throughout. SFX were great look forward to the Caprica tales. No.6 can come back any time she wants!
Jason, Scotland on March 28th, 2009
How will we manage without it? No show even comes close to the calibre that BSG is/was. I look forward to what the spin off "Caprica" brings but I doubt that it will even be close. I will miss the old man and the whole fracking lot of them. Its been a superb roller coaster ride from start to finish, and I'm sad that its come to an end.

Brilliant....Fantastic.....Wonderful. I will miss this show. So Say We All !
RichM on March 27th, 2009
Fantastic ending, very few sci-fi shows manage such a great way (perhaps Angel?). The whole Starbuck and No6/Baltar 'Angels' was a nice little twist. All of this has happened before... Prefect.
Paddy, Derry on March 27th, 2009
Watched this series from very start and really enjoyed the ending. Very few really good sci-fi shows on at the moment. As with many other i also cannot figure out the whole starbuck diappearing thing either.
Darren, South London on March 26th, 2009
My general feeling is that Starbuck is an unknowing Jesus character. She dies, she comes back, she does her thing, she disappears. While some people simply want everything spelling out for them, I think leaving some ambiguity and some guesswork really elevates this to such a superior level amongst it's peers.
phil tyman on March 26th, 2009
awesome end to an amazing show.dont know whats to look forward to on tv now. a big hole now its finished

I loved every minute of it. From the flashbacks to events on Caprica before the fall, to the epic space battles. The death of Laura Roslin, which was dealt with so effectively, I'm not ashamed to admit I had a lump in my throat, and a wee tear (just a wee one!) in my eye. I loved the fact that they ended up on Earth (the actual Earth), but they didn't even know it, and then to have us jump 150,000 years into the future (our present day), I thought was inspired, and, while it basically shows that we're a petty self-destructive lot, it was still a very poignant end to a fantastic show (especially as I had thought it was gonna end up with it being revealed that they were all Cylons!). I didn't notice the apparent drop of quality over the past few seasons that so may others have commented on. BSG pushed the boundaries on sci-fi and I think it will take a hell of a long time for another show to out-do it!

I was a little disappointed but I think in time I'll appreciate it much much more. I havent a clue what/who starbuck was nor the no.6/baltar images. I also was wishing for Lucy Lawless to turn up for the final episode. I know she was 'written out' back at the mid-season break but her cylon was a great character and I would loved to have seen her be there at the 'opera house' moment on the bridge. Great series overall.

I thought it was a brilliant ending to a truly remarkable series - I shall miss it!
Kent, Aberdeen on March 26th, 2009
What a load of rubbish. How many plot threads were abandoned, ignored or went unexplained by the end? Too many. And several events in the finale were quite simply nonsensical and the final scene a stupid, ill fitting attempt at creating some sort of modern day relevance in a show that simply has none. This series went downhill after season 1 and never stopped rolling further down, this finale was simply awful.
Simon, KEnt on March 26th, 2009
A disappointing anticlimactic ending that resorted to rabbit-pulling to solve many plot threads. Most of the second half was navel gazing and gratuitous 'Look t Me' positioning by the writers. Never since the finale to a Doctor Who series have I felt that an opportunity has been wasted. Ron D MOore is the american version of Russel T Davies. Orson Scott Card did a better version of the 'finding earth' story with his epic Homecoming saga, with better reasoning behind the 'visions' and 'gods'....
Paul O'Sullivan, Blackpool on March 26th, 2009
I can easily say that the finale and the series itself will still be watched 30 years from now as an example of how good scifi tv drama can be.I envisage perhaps sitting down in the years to come with my kids and grandkids and rewatching it again and again.I cant wait for the series box set. The ending was perfectly timed and the structure was flawless .Perhaps not all the plotlines were tied up which will probably lead to a lot of heated discussion in the forums and conventions in the future but i would feel a little cheated if everything was squared up and no mystery preserved . I enjoyed the ending esp the scene where the galactica and the fleet seemed to beheading off into the sunset with the original theme like those old westerns . I will be sad it is over but it was a great ride, i look forward to the "The plan" and the prequel Caprica.

Loved it! - I don't watch TV much these days, however Battlestar is the one show that I watched every episode from every season. The finale was fantastic and a real credit to all involved. It's such a shame that it is no more, Tuesday nights will never be the same again!
Matt Newcastle on March 26th, 2009
About people saying series 3 was poor. it was a great series but ruined by the network wanting them to have stand-alone episodes to bring a new audience in. Thats what ruined it. Once it was ending. the networks allowed RDM to do what he wanted again.. Brilliant Show. Only disapointment was there wasn't much of Leoben at all. The connection between Kara and him proved nothing. Disapointing.
iGav, London on March 26th, 2009
The main problem with setting up that Hera was mitochondrial Eve is that it pretty much means everyone from the fleet died and didn't contribute to the gene pool. The theory of Mitochondrial Eve posits that all of humanity is decended from one woman who live in Africa thousands of years ago and her decendents spread out and populated the earth.
Robert Essex on March 26th, 2009
I watched the first season, It was okay.. But lost interest in the second and have not watched it since...but I watched the final, episodes.. did not understand what was going on, but the ending was lame.....History repeating it self, couldn't they come up with any thing better....Seeing all the technology going towards building Robots, does the name skynet means any thing to any one. It has been done, ......Would love to know how any one can call this show Sci Fi, Does not come close to it for me.....A waste of time the entire series has been.....Forget BSG...Stargate is the best Sci Fi Show ever made.
Kevin in Lincoln on March 26th, 2009
Dissapointing ending to a series that became a soap opera in space in Season 3... Season 4 got a bit better. But still failed to achieve anywhere near the drama of the original Pilot, or the movie Razor. BSG was at its best with lots of space battles.. And what was with all the use of our 'modern day' guns, vehicles and equipment.... Its like they couldn't be bothered to come up with some original ideas, or lacked the budget. As to the end, the last half hour was drawn out and dull, and they couldn't think of how to tie up the loose ends so 'god' did it! what a cop out.
paul johns newport on March 26th, 2009
i loved it ,it was the best ending ever sad thing is thats it other than "lost" there is no more U.S sci-fi shows on tv what the frack do we do now
Satveer London on March 26th, 2009
well..to those who say that they didnt resolve any plot lines....well i think yes they did, you just have to look for them. I also like how they explain kara. I figured she was like Blatar's invisible six, but with everybody. She never actually returned, nor was anybody actually physically interacting with her. We have seen 6 get physical with baltar, slamming him up against the wall and leading him around the ship by his tie. Because everybody can see her and "feel" her, she is "real". When she punches in the coordinates for Earth, they replayed the shot where Leobin says, "When i look at you, I see an Angel blazing with the light of God!" so i assume she is an Angel, like 6 and invisible Baltar, and when she had completed her task, she dissapeared. That i liked a lot, and it would explain why she was called the angle of death. And lets not forget about Hera they explained that one up pretty well. She is mitochondrial EVE, meaning: (and this part is real) Scientists can trace genetic lineage through the DNA in Mitochondria, which are little energy producing organelles inside every cell. Since the discovery of mitochondrial DNA, scientists have been looking for evidence of mitochondrial EVE, which is a person every other human has descended from. As of yet they have not found remains of a person like that, but mathematics says, in theory, that if you go far enough back, you should find someone that every other person is related to. This, by the way, does not mean that there was only one person alive at the time. Far from it, but that if you allow enough time to pass, all family trees will mix at some point, so their could be lots of mitochondrial Eve's. Through out the show they have said that Hera, Is "the shape of things to come". basically, everyone here, now, on Earth is descended from her, meaning everyone on earth is part cylon. That is the point of Hera. And If she had not wandered into the CIC, (weird oprah house thing) the following events that led to Starbuck Punching the FTL coordinates of Earth would not have happened. All in all it was a brilliant ending to a fantastic tv show. You have to keep in mind that the overall story plot was there since the first episode, RDM always knew it was going to be a 4 season tv show and as such was able to follow out his vision perfectly.

10/10 but one thing could have made it 11/10 if for the end they had had Baltar or Adama give the 'there are those who believe that life here began out there... speech from the real battlestar galactica.

Possibly the most satisfying ending to a television series I have seen yet!! Don't think many finales have sent shivers down my spine like this one! The only let down was realising that there won't be anymore, what will fill the gap?! Well done to all involved especially Edward James Olmos and Mary McDonnell!!

It was a good ending to the best Sci-fi series to date. I went through a range of emotions watching the grand finale and will miss Battlestar immensely. Special moments for me in the final epsiodes were seeing the old and new centurions together, watching Galactica on its final journey with the remains of the fleet into the sun, and the various characters making their way to different locations on the planet to start a new life. Congratulations to all those that made the show. So say we all................

I loved it. Quite simply, the best 2 hours of television in a very, very long time. And probably for quite a long time to come. An incredible TV show comes to an incredible end. And it is further proof that TV can be a better medium than film, for character development, and emotional involvement. My only regret is that its all over... (Though, Im glad it ended so well :))
Andrew, Seaford on March 25th, 2009
"The flashforward to 150,000 years to present day Earth was whimsical yet chilling" - it was very obvious that this was coming from the moment they landed on a primitive planet. I had hoped that the finale might resolve and explain some of the ideas that had seemed so promising in the first couple of seasons, such as who the ghostly Six and Baltar are, and what happened to Starbuck. The series seemed to lose its way by series 3 and never recovered. The finale was spectacular in its battle scenes, but otherwise wholly disappointing.
Bugsy, Liverpool on March 25th, 2009
Couldn't agree more with the majority above. Have been left feeling sad but fulfilled that it came to such a great end.
Eliot, London on March 25th, 2009
Sorry, I disagree, I thought it was a weak and disappointing ending - but I can't say I was surprised, my expectations were low. For two-and-a-half seasons, it was the best sci-fi show in existence, then it dropped the ball and couldn't recover. Great shame.
Emma, Kent on March 25th, 2009
I will definately miss this show! A great pleasure to watch and i thought the finale was awesome!
Matt Newcastle on March 25th, 2009
Amazing. Totally chilling, Who wasn't brought to tears when Roslin finally died? or when Baltar burst into tears? or when Adama was crying on the mountin saying he'l' build that frakkin log cabin. Only thing was missing was a final scene between Tigh and Adama!
Paul, Aberdeenshire on March 25th, 2009
Incredible, stunning, beautiful and heartbreaking all at once. I sobbed throughout the last hour.
Paul Lloyd Johnson, Canterbury on March 25th, 2009
I really liked these episodes, but to me, it all seemed a little rushed. I think they there was plenty more story to tell and 4 seasons really wasn't enough.
Graham, Glasgow on March 25th, 2009
The greatest TV show ever. Gonna miss it so much.
