I absolutely loved Demons especially the one with Quincy coz it's what made me read Dracula and realise real vampires don't sparkle
Sam Blake, Daventry on October 21st, 2009
I loved the show and really want a 2nd series. Thought the cast were great and rosy was a good role not just an excuse to put a song on a soundtrack. hope they do make a 2nd i would watch it
Eloise Barrett, Daventry on September 30th, 2009
I thought it was fantastic and would love a second series!

I thought Demons was awesome and I've been waiting for a second season since the first one finished. I really want it to be brought back.

Philip Glenister is an amazing actor along with Christian Cooke, Zoe Tapper, Holly Grainger and Mackenzie Crook. Together they made Demons a brilliant show. I wasn't sure about it in at first but as soon as I saw the second episode I was hooked. About a so called 'dodgey' american accent, Glenister was given a challenge and he took it, which is what a lot of people don't do. I think Demons contained a mixture of darkness, humour and different sci-fi to what we usually see.

Demons was very weak when you compare it to other cult shows like Doctor Who, Merlin and Primeval. As soon as the series ended it was obvious that the show was going to be canned - you couldn't honestly expect them to keep it when they canned a more deserving show like Primeval.
Amanda Rose Bournemouth on July 28th, 2009
I thoroughly enjoyed Demons, and I think it is a great shame that it has been canned. Come on ITV give it another chance.
Katie, London on July 6th, 2009
I loved Demons! Yes, the first series was a little shaky, as these things are, but it had such potenial! Rupert/Mina- how do they know each other and why are they so close? As a story, it needs to focus more on the Dracula side of things and the back stories to the characters- maybe a trip through Minas attic? But Demons, so entertaining, the perfect saturday nighter falls short with its use of Philip as Rupert- simply because his fans will expect another Mars or Ashes. Ruby dragged but was tolerable. Bring it back, give it a 12 ep run with some double episodes as sometimes it felt a tad seperated and you didn't need to watch all the episodes in order. Bring in more villians, cut out Ruby and ITV'll have a success on its hands.

Demons could have been really good. However the last Van Helsing behaved throughout like a stupid self-absorbed idiot. If I had been Rupert Galvin I would have thumped him! (and I'm not a violent woman).
Sophie, London on May 29th, 2009
I thought 'Demons' was a load of rubbish. I only saw one episode all the way through but that was all I needed to rate this show. I'd see bits of it after that and what came across was weak plots, poor character development and embarrassing creatures that seemed to be smited left right and centre. There was no sense of adventure in the show, humour or depth to the characters - the three key things that made Doctor Who, Merlin and Primeval hits. My opinion - scrap it. The ITV don't have the money to keep the show afloat anyway.

I loved Demons and it should come back for a second series and will be disappointed if i does not!

omg if they dont release another series of demons il be so sad i really enjoyed it and found my new heart throb lol :)
Gina, Surrey on April 9th, 2009
Hmm... I think 'Demons' was quite good -- but at the same time clearly trashy. Out of the whole cast, I actually found Glenister kind of disappointing (he's so good in Life on Mars and Ashes to Ashes!). The rest of the cast was really solid though, particularly Zoe Tapper as Mina, who was really good, and the guy who played Luke (Christian Cooke?). I think the show has REAL potential, but they need new writers to get in better plotlines (though on occasion the script was pretty good - except Galvin's cheesy lines about 'smiting thee' etc - with some quite funny one-liners, especially between Mina and Ruby). If the show got new writers/better plots and a lead whose heart was really in it, they'd have a hit. I think the basic story was a good idea and it'd be a shame to lose it completely.
kate morayshire on April 8th, 2009
It was a brilliant show, please don,t axe it.
Hannah, Solihull on April 7th, 2009
i liked the last 3 episodes, but the ones before were rubbish. I want to know what happens about Mina and Mr tibbs
Margaret Carr Birmingham on April 3rd, 2009
I was drawn by the irrisitible lure of Philip Glenister!! Who wouldn't be?!! The idea was good - the central casting inspired - the weakness was no real back ground to the stories & dull script. The whole ensemble of characters appeared to habe been droppped into the middle of the set then left to do what they could - as if in a game of Dungeons & Dragons. I can even forgive the dodgy US accent - obviously so Galvin would not be seen as a 'Giles' character a la Buffy (though the Rupert forename may have given it away a teensy bit!!) It shoild be given another go -with more 'meat' to the pie' - drop the surprise revelation about the characters back history (Obviously to add a hint of mystery !) and give us a good old fashioned 'Slay Fest!!
Peter Miller, London on March 31st, 2009
Truly dreadful. When I head Philip Glenister was on board, I expected the dry sexist wit from Life on Mars to creep out from the depths. Instead some fool gave him an American accent. And as for Ruby...final....nail....coffin. She should maybe move into shampoo adverts.
Sam, St Neots on March 24th, 2009
I can't believe some of the people who think demons should be smitted off our screens, if anything gets smited it should be those people, Demons is such an amazing programme. I hope they are making a series 2, because the cliffhanger they left was amazing, and Mr Tibbs didn't die, and because it is amazing
Christina, Wales on March 22nd, 2009
I really enjoyed the series. They chose a good cliff hanger to end with. i just hope comes back. I don't think the series was as bad as the articles are saying.
Kate_Elizabeth York on March 15th, 2009
I really enjoyed Demons! i thought it was fantastic, shamed about Glenister's dodgy accent! Will the series be released on dvd?
Catherine, HERTS on March 13th, 2009
Demons, was fab. Its target audience was teenagers and if we like it it's been a success- and we love it! We have a group of Demons lovers at school and love Christian Cooke to bits. Personally the whole Ruby thing was a bit pointless as there was very little interaction, and they should have got together in the end or something. Meh.
Percival Hartlepool on March 11th, 2009
Don't know what smited means.
Jayne, Telford on March 10th, 2009
When an actor has performed in a cult status role where the accent is so clear in the audience's mind, how can they relinquish that character's anecdotes when faced with the actor in a new role? This was the challenge faced by Philip Glenister in Demons. The timing was wrong, the scripts were tame but the acting by the support cast was in some cases inspired. Having mastered and delivered fine accented performances previously, Mr Glenister did excel here vocally but the ghost of Gene Hunt will linger for a very long time and colour our judgement on any future performance. It is a shame that Mr Glenister and the makers have decided to quit. Instead of providing us with a very dark and intersting take on the Van Helsing story, they have taken the coward's way out and given up. What would have happened if other now popular shows which didn't exactly set the world alight initially were shelved after 1 series? Come on ITV, take up the mantle, throw down the gauntlet and get at least the young Van Helsing boy back on the adventure if Mr Glenister hasn't the stomach for it!
Marie,Lancashire on March 9th, 2009
I loved every moment of this series and I will be very disappointed if there is no more, six episodes is nothing-More please!
Stewart, Chippenham on March 5th, 2009
I watched one episode and that was enough. My high expectations was dashed in no time. The first thought that immediately sprung to mind was ‘cheap imitation’. Here a Buffy wannabe hamstrung by the cheap budget of the production company. I found the script dire and embarrassing and was saddened by the fact that having read some scripts by young unknowns which were many times better than this, I knew they would struggle to get their ideas even read, let alone made in to a ‘glossy’ series. It’s a pity that this sort of writing is all to common now. People do not seem to learn their trade anymore, if they did, then this would never have got passed a proof reading. The actors may very well be experienced, but no amount of talent could bring this to life. The plots were weak. The character development almost none existent and the direction was very poor indeed. One scene that sticks in my mind was the grand finale. A ring of fire, in which our heroes were supposed to be caught. The acting was amateurish as was the direction. All in all a very great waste of cash
Tina Groves, Hampshire on March 4th, 2009
Demons was a great series, and should have a follow-up second series. It should not be axed!
Sparrow, Hampshire on March 3rd, 2009
I like it, it was a little slow to begin with but soon sped up and had me hooked! Unfortunately due to the late hour its on I have to record it - have to get up at 3am every morning! Hope there is another series!
Vicki, London on March 1st, 2009
I admittedly didn't watch it religiously like I did Doctor Who or Merlin. My personal verdict - I don't know. I don't know whether it should be axed or they try one more time with a second series. Frankly, I think it's very clear that this is never going to be a critical success or cult hit like Doctor Who and Merlin have been for the same reasons listed in the review. I did feel Demons was a Buffy rip-off, right down to the love triangle (If you could call it that) between Luke, Ruby and Mina - like the one between Buffy, Xander and Angel in the first series. They just switched the genders around. As someone else said - maybe Shine should scrap Demons and give Merlin a bigger budget!

Love philip glenister in everything he has ever been in..... apart from this. phoney american accent just didn't convince and affected credibility of rest of plot. i think that main reason many people stopped watching
Anselm Guise on March 1st, 2009
Demons was crap end of,it won't get another series because ITV haven't the money to throw away anymore, dig out your Buffy or Angel box sets, they are a million times better in terms of a story and general entertainment.
Lucie, Stoke-on-Trent on February 28th, 2009
Demons should definately NOT be axed! It's one of the best shows I've ever seen; the actors are all great and feel the series was too short. The episodes were all brilliantly written, which held suspence, but wrapped the story line together perfectly. I'm sure I'm one of the many people who think there should be many more series!
Barry, West Yorkshire on February 28th, 2009
It is just Buffy remade on the cheap. Cheap writing with no real underlying sense, cheap baddies (just stick on a false nose or some whiskers) and cheap locations (mostly brick wall cellars). No one was paid enough to stand up to the great Glennister and tell him to quit the stupid accent and dialogue.
Gill High Wycombe on February 27th, 2009
D0 some research - read Bran Stoker's 'Dracula@. What will happen to Mina? What was her relationship with Rupert? Six episodes is too rushed.I loved Ruby's handling of teenage uncaring Luke, who was all a sullen uncertain 18year old can be. Nothing wrong with switching into an American accent - what's the matter with you all - script writers included - there is heaps of potential here for indepth more adult follow on series.
Stephen Ramsey, Blackwood, Gwent on February 26th, 2009
Yes it should be scrapped. The whole series was a disappointment with talking all the way through and a bit of action in the last 5mins
Gemma, Kent on February 26th, 2009
Demons souldn't be axed i love it!! I watched it every week and i want it to come back they can do more of a story on Mina. Hope it stays!
Gary Green, Kuala Lumpur on February 26th, 2009
If it's choice between Demons and bringing back the beloved Gene Hunt in another season of Ashes to Ashes, Demons has to go. Demons only serves to keep Philip Glenister on our screens and Mila or not, is pretty shallow and dull.
