The CW has handed out early renewals to six of its top-performing series for the upcoming 2008-09 season.
The news means a fourth season for cult drama Supernatural, an eighth for Superman spinoff Smallville and a sixth for One Tree Hill.
Also safe are comedy Everybody Hates Chris and reality series America's Next Top Model, which will air its 11th and 12th cycles.
Finally, much buzzed-about freshman drama Gossip Girl - from O.C. creator Josh Schwartz - has been granted a second season.
