I disagree DS, this was by far one of RTDs best scripts, with fantastic acting from the two lead actors tennant especialy!

One of the worse episodes I've seen so far. It was just noise noise noise coupled with very poor overacting. I wanted to throw something at the screen it was so bad. It was absoluely awful. They can do a lot better than this.

have to disagree Sophie from Birmingham. It had me watching from behind the settee cushion a fair few times. And thats never happened since the series was resurrected. Yep it was a rushed conclusion but sadly I suppose they can only cram so much into less than an hour.

Hmm, I liked it! Really good build-up, lots of tension, made you wonder what was going to happen next, overall, really good :3 But is it just me or can no one act in Doctor Who apart from the main characters. The people on the bus were very unnatural and it made me cringe.

I enjoy reading your reviews, though sometimes I tend to disagree. This was a claustrophic, tense and engaging episode and the cast were superb throughout - especially Lesley Sharp. In a word - fantastic! Can't wait for next week

I dont expect anything groundbreaking from an RTD story these days.So now what does he do but give my television its most pulsating 45 minutes its ever had!Dark, sinister, edgy and as tense as ive ever seen DW.I can not recall seeing the Doctor as helpless or powerless as this.Once again revealing a rarely seen side of him, notably his fear as his beloved humans finally turn on him. Lesley Ash as the alien presence was as sinister as anything Hollywood has thrown up. The ending didnt match the rest of the script, but whose complaining? The last 3 episodes have set a high bar,all bodes well for the remainder of series 4. Is this the New New Doctor Who?

A very powerful episode that left me with plenty to think on. A great dissection on what makes you humanity tick, and how quickly fear and ignorance get the better of us. Powerful stuff for a Saturday tea time. I think the DS reviewer has missed the point of the stewardess, whilst her volte-face jarred a little, it was clear (to me at least) that she'd worked out who the real threat was and was prepared to sacrifice herself to keep the others safe. That no one, not even the Doctor, remembered her name made the ending that much more powerful. A very strong piece of writing from RTD and I loved it. You could, even, if you wanted, draw religious comparrisons. The Doctor, speaking of compassion and understanding whilst he's set upon by a selfish and fearful humanity. It is this very behaviour that routinely leads us into pointless conflicts (Iraq, anyone?) because we cannot be bothered to embrace our differences and work to understand each other. Instead, giving into bigotry, fear and murderous rage to destroy and suppressthat which seems different so we don't have to deal with it. Its what keeps in the gutters when we could be reaching for the stars. Or, to put it another way by using the words of adam ant "I could never see the point/ in showing them you're boss/ when they drag you through the city streets/ and nail you to a cross." I took a lot away from this episode, and I hope others did too. Truly, this is what television was invented for - to make us think.

Sorry Ben, but you couldn't be more wrong. This episode is in my opinion one of, if not THE best episodes so far in the revived series. I would actually say that what elevated the episode above most others was the supporting characters. Each and every character was given a distinctive personality which was clearly conveyed to the audience, and was built upon in the episode. And as the creature progressed, so too did the supporting cast, moving from worried to angry and eventually into a mob, with the mentality of one following shortly after. The ending didn't feel at all like a Deus Ex Machina to me, mainly because they showed the changing attitude of the Hostess near the end which allowed for this, and the amount of changing perspectives each character did was expected under the circumstances of the story. Tennant and Sharp must also be commended for their staggeringly good performances. If I'm being honest, the one thing that felt totally out of place was rose on the monitor. It may be necessary for the story arc, but it just seemed quite jarring. This episode is a brilliant psychological thriller, comparable to The Twilight Zone in story terms, and as I have mentioned before this has got to be one of the best episodes in the revived series.

Brilliant Episode, great build up, but then the sudden demise of the Hostess sort of ruined it, but on the whole a good episode to finally bring up into Rose's Return.

I'm not getting the scare factor that was promiseed to be honest it was very dull, but you always get a dull one every season.

One of the best in the series so far! David Tennant is such a brilliant actor, nobody can deny that. I mean, when he couldnt speak, and they were trying to drag him out, the eyes said it all. =[ =[ I didnt want him to go, thank god!! Lesley Sharpe was also rather creepy, but shes good at that kinda role like in Afterlife. Must say, loved the ep. && OMG did you all see Rose???? And the trailer for next week looks brilliant! Cannot wait!
