A good episode but I was disappointed with the ending! This is how the episode, Turn Left, should have finished: Rose tells Donna to tell The Doctor about bad wolf. Donna tells The Doctor & then they both rush towards the tardis & they see the words "bad wolf" everywhere, Donna asks The Doctor "what is bad wolf?" and he replies "Its the end of the universe". The scene then shifts 2 the Stolen Earth's episode where The Doctor & Donna arrive on earth & ask the milk dude "what day is it today?". Suddenly the Doctor and & Donna hear voices & then a whoosh sound is heard with a flash of light in front of them revealing Rose, Jackie, Pete, Mickey, Jake & the rest of the Parallel Torchwood team in front of them. They reunite & suddenly the earth is sucked into the medusa cascade with millions of dalek saucers hovering the skies crying "EXTERMINATE" & Davros hovering down saying "welcome doctor to my new empire".......What do you think?

Here's hoping this serious will be the last we see of Rose! Her teeth, that chavy accent and the fact her eyebrow colour and her hair colour aren't the same has been driving me crazy since I started watching back in 2005. But apart from her, this was an amazing episode probably CT's best. If only she could some how return.

A glimpse of brillance. The tall poppy syndrome applies here as shown by the following two episodes and the secret diary diversion disaster. She would make a great Dr Who with a female companion. Strange speech is a real worry - is the air really clean of ultrasonics?

I followed the Doctor since the 60's or 70's, when it was shown on our Public Television, and have enjoyed all of the Doctors'. While some of the episodes were not as action filled or romance filled as others, I have enjoyed all of episodes. I like Rose Tyler, and it is enjoyable to see her pop-up on occassion. It's nice to see feelings or emotion in the characters, and to see the Doctor almost slip with his feelings, and then pull back because his character must to survive for the next episode. It's always nice to have more than one storyline going on at the same time too. It keeps one guessing.

Billie Piper Sounded No Different In Series 4 Than She Did In Series' One and Two. I Don't Know What The Fuss Is About. She Didn't Sound Any Different but who Really Cares If She Has Had Something Done To Her Teeth. She Is Still The Worlds Best Actress.

Has Billie had Botox or a stroke?

GREAT EPISODE...One Problem... DALEKS IN MANHATTEN! With no doctor, they wouldn't have been stopped, so who did? Also Fires and Pompeii and Lazarus Experiment appear to have simply been forgotten! Also didn't the spaceship have a Nuclear reactor capable of destroying the Earth?! :O Even so good episode :P

I think this episode was brilliant. It was played so well by Catherine Tate and Billie Piper. Excellent performances, very heart felt and touching episode.

One of the best Doctor-lites. Harrowing and realistic, I loved it all. Who couldn't love Rocco Colasanto? And Catherine Tate really carried this episode - and this season really is turning out to be a brilliant season of episodes, isn't it?

Brilliant!

Last December the thought of Kylie at Christmas followed by Catherine Tate for the whole new series was indeed a mouth watering prospect. Having CT was enough but the attachment of Bernard Cribbens as her Ganddad was the icing. Now we have nothing (DT is good but with Donna he is great), Kylie was a one off, CT (far superior than anything previous) is off, presumably this also means we lose BC. I fear the peak has been reached and nothing will be the same. The darkness wins.

I haven't seen this one yet, but after reading all the comments, I can't help having a mental visual of Rose running her tongue over her teeth, looking puzzled, and saying, "New teeth. That's weird." :-)
Adam, Essex on June 25th, 2008
Really enjoyed the episode, so glad someone else noticed Roses teeth issues! I thought she was going to have to explain them at somepoint!
Alex, The Netherlands on June 25th, 2008
I think kevj might actually have a point there about Donna and Prof. River Song. Another thing though : I also noticed something strange about Rose's teeth in this episode. They ooked bigger than normal, and I found myself thinking : Looks like she's wearing fake teeth... Now, Who else is known for his big teeth and great smile ? And also she said to Donna "I'm so sorry" Which is what the Doctor always says to people when he knows there about to die, and he can't help it ... First quote from DT in DW ever : "Mmm... new teeth..." Is Rose actually the doctor in this episode ? No rational basis for this hypothesis, just a gut feeling, do with it what you like ...

Great epi but the beetle and the chinese women seriously creeped me out =-) But Rose coming back maked up for it!
Katie, London on June 25th, 2008
Rose's voice was weird and distracting... but a brilliant, engaging story. Really can't wait for next week- the Whoniverse brought together!!
Chloe from Dorset on June 24th, 2008
Huh? I didn't notice anything different about Rose's voice! It was brilliant!
John, London on June 24th, 2008
Dull, pointless and un-original. I only kept watching in the hope that the "thing" on Donna's back would be a spider from Metebelis III (rather than a Dr Who-circa 1970s-plastic beetle).

Turn left was an excellent episode, and as all good story tellers do, RTD weaved back story and character into this instalment. It’s a given that there are always ‘budgetary’ restraints in Television, but RTD had plenty of time to construct the episode with this in mind, but not at the expense of the Story Arc. Catherine Tate was allowed to show us that she’s not a one-trick pony; but history has shown that a lot of Comedians often are great actors at heart; her performance was touching, and heart-rending playing against Bernard Cribbins, who as Wilf brought some skilfully crafted gravitas to the episode; and like CT can make us both laugh & cry with ease. Billie Pipers’ Rose has shifted beautifully from the cocky ‘am I bovvered?’ ( Sorry CT) character that helped to win the hearts of a new audience to DW , to a darker Rose that’s seen & experienced so much for someone of her years, and yet, she shows us that despite a growing sense of hopelessness she summons up her ‘fight’ to get to the Doctor, and somehow try to help save the day. I’m intrigued by Donna; Donna ‘Noble’ another word for ‘Lord’ and the endless reminders that she’s ‘just a Temp’ – which is a contraction for the Latin “Tempus” meaning ‘Time’ Hmmm! The fact that Rose declared Donna to be... the most important woman in all Creation…, And back in Stephen Moffat’s ‘Silence in the Library’ episode, where we met ‘River Song’ - who had a sonic screwdriver given to her by the Doctor; River Song’s reaction when she met ‘Donna’ – the look of knowing sadness, and minimal interaction between the two. ‘No Spoilers’ she said. Which brings me back to the last moments of ‘Turn Left’; the Doctor muses about the significance of Donna, and the Tardis ‘Bell’ begins to toll which as all good Whovians will tell you, usually means there’s a re-generation in the offing, but this may not necessarily mean that it’s the Doctor! Could it be….could it really be that the ‘noble’ battle has ended, but ‘song’ continues on? Pure speculation on my part of course; but Doctor Who under the helm of Russell T Davies, the excellent Stephen Moffat, and in fact the whole Production Team, has given British Television something to be truly proud of; great entertaining Saturday night viewing.

The idea was good, but the lack of DT requires something extra special (Blink) to get it through. Sadly, too much flash back and not enough new meat was offered. Great performance by Bernard Cribbins (as always and yes, knight him), Catherine and Billie worked at it, but I feel DT's presence was sorely missed.

I've been watching Dr. Who for over 30 years, and can honestly say this was one of the worst episodes I've ever seen. Terrible, derivative storyline, lazy writing and Billie Piper looking like a Barbie doll gone wrong while trying to prove she's a serious actress. On a par with the debacle that was the Candyman.

I truely believe that this is the calm before the storm. Turn Left I believe was used to pump up everyone's excitement for the season finale. I loved Catherine Tate since the beginning, but this was just the icing on the cake. Very well acting. The only time that I was distracted by Rose's speech was when she said "I was like you." Or something like that. That line that she said in the trailer. As for next week's episode, people are saying that having everyone that traveled with the Doctor is going to distract people from the plot. I don't believe that. People were bound to be distracted by the return of Rose, as she was many people's favorite, (I believe my dad has a crush on her :] ) but they wern't distracted to much. If it wasn't for her speech, it seems like everyone paid attention to the storyline. But, all in all, this was a very good episode, but compared to the trailer for next weeks, it was defenatly the leading up to.

It shows that BBC are cuting back with this show and it showed it too with all parts of past shows put into the show.
Debs, London on June 23rd, 2008
Loved the show on Saturday evening - just one niggling problem for me: why did the military types accept Rose and her authority when they didn't even know her name? Can't wait for next week!!

Great episode - now I'm totally confuzzed. Was it just me or did I hear a Dalek laughing in the trailer at the end of this episode? Another one of those hybrid Daleks perhaps?
kerry, southend on June 23rd, 2008
lucy, erm, well as the doctor died on christmas day, and martha died in the hospital, then neither of them were around to travel in time to discover the master hiding.
Anna, Australia on June 23rd, 2008
'They didn't mention anything about the master. Was this because without Martha to point out the watch, he would never have turned back into a timelord and died in that spaceship at the end of the world?' Without the Doctor the Master wouldn't even have had a TARDIS to travel with. The episode was alright I guess. I'm more excited about next week!

I think we'll all have to wait to see the final 3 episodes all together to get exactly what the impact that 'Turn Left' leads onto, (thank Sky for Sky+), RTD will be hugely missed considering the heavyweight hitter that he's turned the Whoniverse into again, it'll be intersting to see how all this unfolds, the rumoured 'reset' and Steven Moffat at the helm should keep us all on the edge of our seats all over again... Gallifrey Returns? Big screen outing please!
Mike, Bristol on June 23rd, 2008
Catherine Tate was outstanding, always keeping the audience on the edge of her wit but at the same time making the absolute horror at what was happening believable (in the context of Dr Who).
Donnata London on June 23rd, 2008
Thought the Doctor-light episode was just a cop out, using flash backs of old episodes instead of making new ones. Boring and dull.
John, West London on June 23rd, 2008
Stunning!! Catherine Tate has grown in stature as an actress throughout this series, and RTD is evidently going out with a bang.
Neil, Plymouth on June 23rd, 2008

Couldn't agree more about Bernard Cribbins: wonderful actor, the show is definitely better with him in it.
FanaticalWhovian on June 23rd, 2008
I loved this ep. Perhaps 'midnight' a bit more then this one but I didn't feel it was laboured or waterdown. It was interesting to see the way things would have turned out. a tangled web of lives interconnecting. Rose only distracted me once with her lisp.
Riley, Albany NY, USA on June 23rd, 2008
I don't know what everyone is saying about Rose and a speech impediment. I thought she sounded the same as usual. I'm glad I was watching the episode alone, cause when I heard those two magical words, I was cheering a LOT.
Anna, Georgia, America on June 23rd, 2008
Donna was amazing and I whole-heartedly agree with this reviewer, from the awesomeness of the episode to the less than awesomeness of Rose's speech impediment. LOL.

only one word required, aamazing, as always docotr who delivers and rose it back!!!! yaya for the most gripping finale yet! can't wait for the last two episodes
