The two pilots open the protective shield to look outside under The Doctor's instructions, and one of them sees a moving figure outside. It was previously believed that nothing could survive on the planet's harsh conditions. A rescue ship is dispatched but will take two hours to arrive. Rose Tyler appears on one of the ship's monitors for a brief moment calling out to The Doctor, but he doesn't notice.
A series of bangs on the vehicle precedes it being flipped over and one withdrawn female passenger called Sky appears to be possessed. She repeats the words that the passengers say while gazing at them and soon manages to speak The Doctor's words before he says them.
This prompts the majority of passengers to believe that The Doctor, who has suddenly become immobile and unable to communicate his own words, is now the possessed one. Sky convinces several of them to throw him out of the airlock. However, the vessel's stewardess has faith in The Doctor and heroically intervenes to throw Sky and herself out of the airlock. This manages to free The Doctor from the alien's control.
The time traveller is soon reunited with Donna and they set off on their travels again.
