Producers of Dancing On Ice have considered sacking some of the show's professional skaters because they are not attractive enough, it has been claimed.
An insider reportedly told The Sun that makers of the ITV1 show may replace some of the skaters in a bid to emulate the success of BBC One's Strictly Come Dancing.
A source said: "Bosses have been aware for some time their professionals are a rare-looking bunch. They might get by with their sequins on but they look rough in training scenes.
"On Strictly the dancers are almost as famous as the celebs. We need that from our skaters and the cast we've got just isn't cutting it. No new contracts have been given to any of the stars yet."
Judge Jason Gardiner said: "The skaters and judges are all dispensable. If they need to make the changes they'll make them. Everybody is replaceable - except Torvill and Dean."
