This box produces a excellent quality pictures on high resolution LCD monitors, which is what I wanted, in order to make use of a spare 19" monitor as a LCD TV for the bedroomm. Unfortunately, the channel listing features are not designed for the UK market, as it cannot display in the correct logical channel order for Freeview. Channels can either be sorted in name ASCII code order (NOT alphabetically) or the order in which they were found, or the service number (NOT the correct lofical channel number). Apart from this minor niggle, the box performs well and channels can be found reasonably easily with the onscreen list and EPG functions. NOTE - This box does NOT allow connection to a PC for recording!

After getting it recently I was overly impressed with what you can do with it. With the product you can record Live TV with it, you can get HDTV off of it (provided that your monitor is HD compatible) and that it offers pretty much what a normal TV set top box has, like the EPG, and now and next functions, I found it a rather satifying product. The instructions in the box however, is rather basic and just tells you more or less how to install it and to get the detailed instructions, you use Adobe Reader. Also the small aerial I had with the product was relatively useless and recomended for very strong signals, I just used an indoor aerial and that gave me a decent reception and the software can be rathere weird. My verdict is that although you need to use the CD for better instructions and unpredictalbe software, I find it a rather good box and that it has a rather small size compared to a standard Digital TV box. But if you are into multimedia on your PC the I would recommend this as it allows PVR using your hard drive and offers more or less what an average Freeview box does. If you want TV on your PC, keep your eyes open for this one.

Had the stb-9 but it developed a fault and avermedia replaced with this box. Biggest problem is that I can only get a max of 41% signal strength and so lose plenty of channels. My Goodmans freeview and previous stb-9 all got 100% signal strength so dont no what the problem with it is. Other big drawback is that the only input is via VGA which means that you cant connect a DVD player to it, or a camcorder, or anything but a PC!! Not overly impressed.
