Within a few days I had no less than 6 dead pixels. The screen has to be viewed at a certain angle to get the best possible image which affects where in the room you put it/sit watching it. Canterbury has terrible signal anyway so no surprises at the blocky disruptive TV viewing. I dont even use the built in speakers - I use my dvd players ones. The tv and freeview box have 2 different volume controls - you have to adjust the one on the tv by getting up to change it while the freeview box remote makes hardly any differenct to the overall volume. I've had it a year and I'm already considering scrapping it. I cant even sell it because I doubt many people would want to buy this rubbish.

This is a big improvement on the Goodman's GDB6 and has all the latest and update to date features.

Just brought one of these packaged with the 15" monitor as a bedroom set and am more than happy with it. Although this is my second one as the first had dead pixels, and as others have said, it only comes with instructions for the STB, with no connection example for the included monitor, setting up was really simple. The monitor comes with a scart to 3 colour coded phono plugs that go into the 3 colour coded phono sockets on rear of monitor (obvious really) and with just power and the aerial to connect it took about 15 minutes including tuning in. Anyway all seems well so far, a stable box with great picture quality that can even be used as a PC monitor, just needs better instructions.

I bought the 15 inch model of this and it is excellent. I only managed to get hold of one because some customers were returning these BECAUSE THEY WEREN'T TVs!!! My only gripe is several of the connectors have been blanked off on the back of the monitor. The Freeview box is sound and the picture excellent. If you need to connect more devices just buy a scart switch box, you can get one for a tenner or less depending on your needs.

would not recomend this to anybody, had to send it back and have our money back, a total waste of space.

I have just bought this product, and after initially being very annoyed by the lack of manuals, SCART sockets etc. After the initial shock, teh configuration was very simple. Plug the UHF cable into the Freeview box, and the Freeview box and PC into the monitor supplied. Other scart devices can be accessed via the 2nd SCART socket on the Freeview box, ie DVD, PS2 or XBox. For £265, a 17in Flat screen TV, Freeview and PC XGA monitor is good value!

I agree with all the comments I have read so far, it took us four days to figure it out, after noumerous trips to shops to find out they had set theres up even the sales assistantant could not understand why there was no instruction books for the tv. we could not figure out how to us it for the pc, the helpline was rubbish, come on Goodmans get your act together, put instuction books in.

Ben Suffolk, Bristol on December 27th, 2005
I found the instruction booklet on the goodmans site (as it was also not included in the box):- http://www.goodmansdigital.co.uk/Instruction_Books/Glcd%2015_and_17%20DVB.pdf I was a little disappointed that the integrated freeview turned out to be a separate box, its going to make it hard to wall mount as I planned. Have just bought this product and spent some time hunting for the instruction booklet for the TV! The package only included a booklet for the freeview box. As the Goodmans helpline was completely useless, had to go back to the shop to see how they had wired their unit as the TV had NO SCART PORTS. Eventually managed to get connected but I certainly wouldn't recommend this product.

J Swift, Wolverhampton on October 26th, 2005
I have just bought a goodmans LCD TV and Freeview box and the TV has no instuctions only the Freeview box. Anyone else buying one of these will need to buy an RF modulator to convert the TV because it has no scart sockets. Good luck because you will all need it.

Steve, Oxford on September 25th, 2005
The instruction booklet that comes with the product does not give any instructions for the actual flat TV that came in the box. As this is one package there should be instructions for both. Also these instructions for only the freeview box are for connecting using, in some scenarios, 2 scart leads and the flat screen TV that is part of this package has NO SCART PORTS. The TV comes with an S-video port, but there are no instructions for tuning in to this or even just being able to turn the TV over to this channel. I want to be able to plug my daughter's Play Station 2 into this unit and cannot do it without unplugging the TV from the base, Freeview unit and using the 3 standard composite sockets. ease of Configuration and instructions are rated at 2/10.
