I have just purchased the ITD68. The box cover has a picture of the unit - it quite clearly says: Digital TV receiver .over 40 channels with freeview .programme guide .favourite list and parental guide .easy install and set up THERE IS NO FAVOURITE LIST!!!!!!! PAINFUL AND UNECESSARY!!!!! I will take the unit back tomorrow - what the hell are sagem up to?

Sadly I bought the IDT72 (Top Up TV version) from Comet. Fails completely on a regular basis(less than 1 hour between failures) - total loss of vision and sound then resets itself in about 30 seconds. Not the fault of either the signal (we have a high gain digital antenna on the roof) or SCART as our old simple Bush box worked perfectly on the same set up and still does now that we've returned this rubbish. Avoid Sagem boxes like the plague.

simple to use, picture quality is excellent tho only after spending £200 on a high gain aerial and booster oh and some1 to install it. but all channels work excellent. bad points.... only now & next epg, overheats and cuts out occasionally but a flick of the mains power switch off,on and all works fine, this happens about once a day tho but for £25 from tesco, and only for the lady 2 watch in the bedroom while i watch sport on sky downstairs, so seems a great buy for the price.

i think this topbox is utter s***, it consistently needs unplugging and replugging to reset the damn thing because it keeps failing. It was a xmas gift so i don't know where it was bought from, however i purchased the goodmans dv3 and it came with everything you needed unlike the sagem which doesn't include a scart, and this one works properly!

Bought this tonight on the Setanta option from Tesco. Nice design and like the way the card tucks away underneath the unit. Good remote and on-screen graphics. Again, disappointed by lack of 7-day EPG and other functions, but have my Panasonic TUCT-20 for RF looping etc. Incidentally RF on here is set to UHF38. One thing i do like is the progress indicator which shows you how far through a programme you are. An individual gimmick which adds nothing but is intriguing nontheless.

These boxes have a generally poor reputation. So when I had the chance of one for free, I thought it would do for a second set. Well it far exceeded my expectations (probably because they were low) I like the general look and feel of the menu system, and it works very well and feels sturdy and predictable (unlike most Vestel boxes which look awfull and the software is clunky and unreliable). I particularly like the fact that channel change is fast (much faster than any other box I have used) and Interactive/text pages load extremely fast indeed. Typing 2 or 3 digit channel numbers (to jump to them directly) works well, relably and predictaby. Only a few things lets this box down. Firstly my old chestnut of not being able to re number the channels, so you are stuck with the jumbled up illogical default channel order. Made worse by the fact you can't even delete unwanted channels or set up a favourites list. The lack of EPG is a shame, particularly since (acording to the multi model manual) other versions DO have an EPG. Likewise the lack of RF modulator, where others in the range do have these features. So this is definitely the "basic" model in the range, and for that reason, I only use it on the kitchen television. I would need a box with more features for my main set. If you want the nice stable, dependable and predictable operation, but want more features, look instead for the IDT72 which has twin scarts, EPG and timer functions (but sadly no channel re numbering or favourites)

Good quick box but remote bit fiddly. Sometimes prone to ask for rescan to look for new service when there aint no new ones.

Joe, London on February 3rd, 2006
Picture quality is excellent. Everything about the box is good except for the annoying aspect ratio problem. When using a 4:3 tv on a widescreen program it'll be displayed as a squashed 4:3 even when set to letterbox display. I exhanged it for another directly with sagem (excluded from argos 14 day) and the new box has the same problem!

Had an ITD58 in Nov 2004 which was changed twice due to cutting out mainly on ITV channels. After some expensive phone calls got email addresses for service staff who happily phoned me back to save my call costs. In FEB2005 Sagem exchanged the ITD 58 for an ITD 62. which lasted until June 205. Three replacement sets later and still having problems with set not working or switching off on ITV channels and waiting for updates ,which didnt work, 2 weeks ago they sent an ITD 68 which ,so far has worked perfectly. They also said to keep the faulty set as I could give it to my grandaughter to get CBEEBIES. So summary --. Service is great once u get hold of a name to contact direct. Product -- If they have now sorted out all of the problems they have a good box in the ITD68, but I would have no faith in the older models

Upgraded from the 62 to this but now im going back to the 62 - the screen is always squashed up (occasionally resolved by flicking back and forth betwen channels), often locks up, one scart socket is a pain and the tv guide is worse than the 62. One real annoying thing is you can not rearrange the channels!! Baffling how a newer version can be worse than the older one?

i think it is cool and very tiny i wish they made them smaller

Exchanged for the hopeless Echostar T105, very very basic box, some freezing of picture from time to time, very little in way of user settings, no timer, no favourites, no channel delete facility. I don't see me sticking with this for long but it works so it has to be better than the Echostar

    C. Mack, Scunthorpe on November 3rd, 2005
As this unit only has 1 scart socket, I thought I'd put that to the tv and the RF to the VCR for recording. (VCR scart already used) I could not tune the VCR to the Sagem. Turns out, from the multi-unit user manual (crap), that although the sagem loops the RF through, it does not add a modulated freeview frequency. This must have saved them pennies! Otherwise it seems ok ish.

    Broke down after 2 months.

Right.... Bought the Sagem ITD68 today as a replacement for ( firstly ) an Echostar T-101 FTA which after just under a year of trouble free use packed up totally, so back to Argos for a replacement, but no more T-101 FTA's in stock, so replaced it with a Philips DTRA200, which packed up 'big time' after only 3 days.... So.... back to Argos. Ok back to the Sagem ITD68, unpacked it, pluged it in, and WooHoo, It works ( So far ) But,,, and this is a big but ( so to speak ) .... Argos advertise this unit wrongly,,, it only has now & next EPG ( which is, well... Crap ! So for now back to a printed TV guide for me... Grrrr )... ( No Enhanced EPG as stated on the box and in the Argos Catalogue ),,, it also has 'NO' - Timer Programming, Video Freeze, locking or Favourite lists ( Grrrr ). You only find this out after buying the unit via a single A5 sheet and the manual ... Also NO contact email and/or support on the Sagem website for the ITD68 ( as of today ) , So i cant find out if they plan any software updates for the future ( maybe they will get their S*** together soon , Grrrr ). Will i've got all that off my chest,,, i guess time will tell if i have to make my way back to Argos again with the Sagem ITD68 for yet another freeview box ( come on Argos sell products that work and get your act together with the catalogue )...

I own this box, as well as numerous other boxes, and I feel it is better than many other boxes, as for a start, it is physically tougher. I have a Daewoo Setpal, and ive had them about the same time, and after general wear and tear, the remote on the setpal has become unresponsive, the buttons are poor and have worn, and the back continually falls off. Whereas the Sagem is sturdy, and is still as good as new, in perfect contidion. It's easy to use, value for money, and better than the Setpal!!!

Paul, Coventry on September 30th, 2005
Swapped over to the Sagem from a Nokia221 in May. The reason being that the Nokia kept on freezing during changing of channels. Low and behold the Sagem is doing worse than before. Back to Argos I must go.

Abo, Brighton on September 25th, 2005
Exchanged at Argos for failed Grundig - but also failed totally after less than a fortnight of use!!
