Potentially a great product, but let down by poor software. Worst bugs/defects include the inability to make the TV appear automatically on anything other than the primary display, video picture offset from Window frame even when you drag it to the second monitor, random BSODs especially when moving the window, plus (in my case at least inability to get BBC4). These and many other bugs have been reported to AverMedia, but so far not even any acknowledgement of my emails. I also note that the last software release is dated 2003. Overall, it looks like support for this product has been totally discontinued - so beware.

Not bad, but can not get the picture image capture to work properly (always looks squashed).

Quite a good little device and I use it with Media Center but It does require a lot of retuning and the picture quality is crap. But It's a pain it does not work with my mac!

I recieved this a couple of days ago and am very pleased with it. The instalation and set up was very easy and the resulting picture is excellent and the recording quality very good. The in box instructions are a bit sparce but the adobe are fine

At first I would say this product is brilliant, but during longer usage I am finding show-stopper niggles with both the software and hardware. Poor show is all I can say. I've tried it on two computers now and both show the same problems, basically the product is engineered to a 40% reliablity factor, doesn't record properly, in fact I'm sending it back cos its crap. If yours doesn't work as it says it should on the box, send it back!! don't argue or whine or into any raw deals, just send it back and get your money back.

Just bought this and it is absolutely fantastic. The first USB tuner card that has worked for me. I would recommend AverMedia products because they *actually* do what they say on the box

Since reciving this little gem as a freebie with an ASUS laptop purchase I have spent more time tuneing & rescanning for stations and not much watching TV at all, Installation was easy but configuring the thing is a problem which I now know to be related to the aerial supplied its usless - attach the unit to a quality antena and it goes of like rocket the antena supplied IMHO would be best left out of the box as it consumed hours of my time & I never recived a picture using it broken sound but no picture.

I just recently recieved this product I quite liked it when watching off of it. The installation was easy and is HDTV enabled. It also has a PVR and you can play back recorded TV on your computer and it can then be copied by DVD. The full manual is on the disk and requires Adobe Reader and is on the Disk. One problemis that it doesn't specify that it is able to run on Mac OS computers but can be used for Windows 2000/ME and Xp only and is also said to utilise Linux Operating Systems, but I recommend using the website to recieve full details on OS requirements. I have also found that the software needs some getting used to as well. All this box does is basically what a Freeview box does and the aerial supplied is uesless and I would recommend using a better aerial or and outdoor one and is only uesed for strong signals, but it could be used for portable viewing on a laptop. To conclude, I found that this box does more or less what a freeview PVR does and if you want to make your PC one step closer to being a multimedia system. Despite the wierd software and the uesless aerial, it does what a normal TV box does and if you want to use it as a PVR, then I recommend that you get a new hard drive. If you are looking for a PCTV box, I suggest that you add this to your list Note: I attempted to review the other AVer Media box and if it comes up, I was reviewe this product and I apologise for misleading.
