The broadcaster's broadband-powered video on demand service has also undergone a deeper makeover, with content from Sky One and Sky Box Office added to the existing content from Sky Movies and Sky Sports.
Content from Sky One, which will be available to Sky customers who take Sky One as part of their subscription, includes season 3 of Lost, available at £2.50 per download. The charge is one-off and will enable fans of the show to legally download full episodes immediately after an episode airs on Sky One. Episodes from other popular Sky One shows including Weeds and Stargate SG1 will also be available at a £1.50 price point.
Sky Box Office downloads will be charged at £3.95 each, with the pay-per-view content being kept on a user's PC for 7 days before expiring; unlimited plays will, however, only be permitted within 48 hours of download.
"Sky Anytime brings to life our customer promise to provide entertainment your way," said Griffin Parry, director of mobile and broadband at Sky. "We already know our customers have a significant appetite for movies and sports via broadband with more than a million downloads since the service launched in January this year. Sky Anytime is core to our plan to deliver entertainment on demand across platforms making it easier for Sky TV customers to enjoy whatever they want, whenever they want."
Sky by mobile will rebrand as Sky Anytime on Mobile later this year.
