Philips Consumer Electronics has launched a brand new consumer logo for its Green Flagship range of energy efficient products.

The company has taken steps to ensure that its environmentally friendly products are easily identifiable to customers, and the new Green Tick logo will be placed on all items in the range.

The Green Flagship products are tested in the areas of energy consumption, packaging, hazardous substances, weight, as well as recycling and disposal. These tests confirm that the gadgets have a significantly smaller environmental impact compared to competitor products within the same category.

Key products in the range include the HDTV ready Philips LCD 42PF7621D, which was named by EISA as the European Green TV of the Year 2006/07, and the Philips HTS8100 Cineos Sound Bar Home Theater, which is 50% more energy efficient than its nearest competitor.
