ITV Digital announces refund arrangements

The statement reads:
"Please note that until further notice and with effect from 7.00am on 1 May 2002 ITV Digital is unable to continue providing pay television services to its customers.
"Customers can still view the free-to-air digital channels including BBC, ITV, Channel 4 and Channel 5. No further charges will be made on customers.
"Customers are entitled to receive a refund of subscription monies received by ITV Digital during the administration ie. from 28 March 2002 if they have not received the television services for the period for which those payments were made. The refunds will be calculated on a pro rated basis.
"As an example, if a customer paid a monthly subscription of £20 after the date of administration but only received television services for half of that month they will be entitled to a refund of £10.
"The refunds due to customers are currently being calculated in order that they can be repaid to customers promptly.
"Customers do not have to take any further action in relation to any refund due to them as this is being dealt with by ITV Digital and customers will receive notification from ITV Digital.
"Any further customer enquriries should be addressed to the ITV Digital customer service centre on telephone: 0870 600 9696.
"Please note that the customer service representatives will endeavour to answer any enquiries as quickly and efficiently as possible but there may occasionally be delays in responding due to the volume of calls currently being received. We apologise for any inconvenience."
