Purchased this box from Argos last October and the sound has started dropping out every so often of about a second. Get's annoying after a while. Picture quality good and sound good when working, features good including being low energy. If they can fixe the sound drop out problem this would be an excellent box. I have tried a software update but there never seems to be one available.

Always had the sound drop out for a few seconds, but now lose sound completly unless you change channel every hour or so. 18 months old. Next time I will try Aldi with 3 year warrenty.

Bought one as a present for the mother-in-law about 18 months ago. It went 'bang' in spectacular fashion the other day. Blew the fuse and components melted inside. I guess you only get what you pay for.

my previous set top box made a sound gave a slight amount of smoke and stopped working after three years. i decided to change manufacter and purchased a new set top box. I immediately noticed a difference in picture quality the new box picture was darker and adjustment to my t.v could'nt rid what seemed like a dull grey screen film. It also lacked features i'd come to take for granted like volume control on the remote useful when using my v.c.r. eliminating the need to balance the volume between two components. I returned and purchased the latest wharfdale lpdv832b almost identical to my box purchased three years ago in appearance silver now black but the picture quality is good and a marked difference. longterm reliability leaves a question mark. I purchased from argos & payed for an extended warranty for three years.

Generally a decent box but also experience audio drop outs and bad lip sync. Definitely not a reception problem (Previous Daewoo worked fine up to the NIT change). Definitely due to shoddy software not handling AVSync/bit buffer control correctly. Warfedale really should issue an update to fix this. Also lacks ability to switch back to last channel veiwed.

Took this box back to argos sound dropouts every 15 minutes!!! Argos would not refund me and said they had to send it away for repair!!! This is a know bug with this box and should not be sold!!!!

Good reception when working except for sound drops as experienced by other users. However, twice in 3 months it has shut down and then nothing (remote or front button) will turn it on again until it choses!

I experience sound drop outs with this freeview box which is very annoying. The other problem is that when left on one channel for too long, it looses sync between voice and picture. To resolve you have to change channels and change back again to get the synch corrected.

I've also experienced sounds drop outs on this box. I got it to replace a Wharfedale DV832B which never experienced any sound drop outs but this box drops for anything from a second to 5 seconds. Other than that it's a fair box and resonable value

Got this box from argos last week, much better than most of the other boxes i have had, has a phillips chip inside to reduce picture problems. Fast text services, good channel pickup, good picture and clear sound. Only one problem is that has a few second sound dropout, but i think this is becuase of the poor flat aerial rather than a fault of the box, i great cheap box well worth the money.
