A Spanish firm rebroadcasting digital television signals from Sky has been shut down.

It is understood that Telmicro, which offered a subscription-based microwave retransmission of a number of channels available on Sky, has ceased providing the service.

According to reports in the Spanish press posted to the Digital Spy forums, police raided a number of homes across the Vega Baja, confiscated equipment valued over €1m, and made a number of arrests.

Other microwave providers are believed to have turned off retransmission of Sky subscription services in the wake of the action but continue to offer other channels.
