Media industry veteran Clive Jones has joined interactive television gaming service NetPlay TV as non-executive chairman.

Jones has a wealth of experience, including formerly acting as chief executive of both Carlton and ITV News.

He is presently non-executive chairman of GMTV, non-executive director of S4C and also a governor of the National Film and Television School.

The company hopes that his appointment will strengthen its position for delivering "revenue-generating programming to broadcasters".

In a statement, the company's chief executive Martin Higginson welcomed Jones to the board and also highlighted his management skills and media connections.

He added: "Over the past two years we have proved that interactive live gaming can work and we're now ready to roll out our successful formats to new broadcasters and partners alike."
