
Virgin Media has announced that it will soon launch the first television advert for its mobile service since it formed as a new brand in 2007.
The 60 second ad will premiere on June 24 and then run for the next five weeks.
It features a man sitting on a train and accessing Virgin Mobile's internet service to the soundtrack of 'Into Dust' by 1990s rock band Mazzy Star.
This also marks the first time that the firm has launched a TV advert for its mobile offering since NTL and Telewest joined Virgin Mobile in 2007 to form the overall brand.
Virgin Media executive director of brand and marketing Ashley Stockwell said that the advert "really packs a punch".
He added: "We wanted to engage people on an emotional level and show them just how much the mobile internet can bring to them, from social media and music to film clips and games, all for less than the price of a packet of crisps.
"Bringing our mobile product back to the small screen has been truly powerful stuff."
