Virgin Media has launched a new online search and listings function for users to more easily browse its on-demand content.
The cable operator currently has limited search functionality available on its existing video on demand platform on the EPG.
It has therefore moved to introduce the new online feature which enables users to browse the on-demand library of TV programming, movies and music.
The new system also introduces an editorial element to highlight the most popular on-demand content among viewers, as well as showcase new material on the EPG.
Virgin Media executive director of online Alex Green said: "Our new TV on-demand listings page gives customers the ability to search and browse details of the 4,600 hours of TV shows, films and music on Virgin Media TV on-demand for the first time.
"With such a huge range of content, the page will allow customers to search for shows to watch, providing detailed information about each programme as well as instructions on how to find them on the system.
"It's a great tool to allow customers to locate what they want to watch and we're confident it will prove immensely popular."
A Virgin Media spokeswoman also told Digital Spy that the operator is currently looking into bringing an equivalent search and listings function directly to the EPG in order to further improve the user experience.
