Australian cable operator Optus has announced that it is eliminating 450 positions in a cost-cutting measure.

The company hopes to achieve the savings by not filling current vacancies and reviewing a range of permanent and contract roles in the business. A spokesperson told The Nation newspaper that actual redundancies would probably amount to around 200.
