The Football League has said it expects the £178.5m it is owed by ITV Digital to be paid in full.

"The League are prepared to continue talking, the door is still open," said Bradford City chairman Geoffrey Richmond after this afternoon's meeting of the 72 League chairman in Manchester.

Birmingham City's Karen Brady added: "At the moment it's a case of all or nothing. Everybody was hoping there would be a new offer but that's not the case. There is the possibility of a legal case."

The League's chairman, Keith Harris joked: "Show us the money," adding that the clubs were "unified" and would be working together to ensure "a just resolution". "We are ready, willing and able to sit down and resolve this dispute, and the sooner the better, but at this point in time there is no offer on the table," he added.

ITV Digital withdrew its offer of £74m to the League late last night, suggesting that Carlton and Granada have accepted that no deal will be reached, and are instead preparing to send the venture into liquidation.

Earlier this month, the League indicated that should no deal be reached, it would press ahead with legal action to the tune of £500m.
