Supermarket giant Tesco has begun selling a DTT set top box for £10 from today.

The box, made by Techwood, offers up to 40 digital channels and selected digital radio stations, and displays an eight-day electronic programme guide.

A spokesman for Tesco said: "We know that many of our customers aren't ready for the change in the way their TV programmes are transmitted, so to get them prepared for the switchover from analogue to digital, we're offering this digital TV technology at the lowest price ever."

Digital UK recently announced that it was encouraging supermarkets to provide more information in store for customers regarding switchover, which begins in October in Whitehaven in Cumbria.
