Is UKTV People going to close? Now with UKTV People+1 gone and some of its programs of UKTV G2 is UKTV People going to close?

UKTV History and people become 1 new channel. Just saying this because UKTV History downtime says UKTV History starts at 5am?

Maybe they could merge UKTV Doucmentary too, give it a cool name, something like, erm, UK Horizons?! G2's daytime output is very close to People's, so a closedown of people wouldn't be out of the question. How does it do in the ratings compared to the rest of UKTV?

It looks like UKTV Documentry and people and not doing that well in ratings. But UKTV History is doing better.

There is nothing to suggest that UKTV People will be closing. I also suspect there is a reason for the +1 service closing. Maybe UKTV need the EPG slot to launch a new UKTV Channel?

Nah, They wouldn't close it yet - maybe after 7 weeks. :D

We can expect a new UKTV channel to replace UKTV People +1 though.

I'd expect the next channel to close will be UKTV G2 +1 as the viewers it is getting won't justify the cost of existence to UKTV, especially since UKTV People +1 got higher viewing figures than UKTV G2 +1.

Whats UKTV Drama doing like in the ratings? I wouldn't be suprised to see a +1 channel of this launch.

UKTV Bright Ideas is seriously underperforming considering it's on Sky, Cable and Freeview.

+1 is such a crap idea

Extra viewers .'. ad revinue with very little extra cost. Sounds like quite a reasonable idea to me. :D

is this on all platform, or platform excluding freeview. Otherwise it would not surprise me an channel on freeview doing better than two channel not on freeview

I personally think they should merge Documentary and People back together and bring back UKTV Horizons 1 & 2, much better name...now considering some UKTV channels now have shows have no reference to what the channel is called...It seems to be losing its edge the whole network. This here is what I think they should do with their channels via Sky Digital order :

1. UKTV+ (Mix of UKTV programs and originally commisioned shows) Replaces UKTV History on Freeview
2. UKTV GOLD (Mainstream entertainment from '80s, '90s &' 00s)
3. UKTV GOLD+1 (timeshift of above)
4. UKTV Classic Gold (Classic comedy from 60s, 70s & 80s) Replaces UKTV G2
5. UKTV Classic Gold +1 (timeshift of above)
6. UKTV Drama (Classic drama)
7. UKTV Drama +1 (timeshift of above)
8. UKTV Play (Live phone-in music shows & documentaries, indie comedy and gameshows)
9. UKTV Play 2 (More of the above except live shows)
10. UKTV Style (Home makeover shows)
11. UKTV Style +1 (timeshift of above)
12. UKTV Style Gardens (Garden makeover shows)
13. UKTV BrightIdeas (Home & garden makeover and cookery shows) Stays on freeview
14. UKTV Food (Cookery shows)
15. UKTV Food +1 (timeshift of above)

UK Horizons is very unlikely to return.
PLAYuk is very unlikely to return.

UKTV Military History is a reasonable possiblity for a new channel.

UKTV People +1 is likely to return once UKTV get more transponder capacity.

UKTV Style Gardens +1 is also likely to launch.

UKTV Sport & UKTV Sport +1 are also possibilities.

But still isn't UKTV+ is a good idea?

What kind of a name is UKTV Documentary for a channel? That's 9 syllables! Also, UKTV BrightIdeas, that's 7 and what kind of a name is UKTVG2?
I think they should have stayed UK but there was no "true network identity".
I also think that gardening shows should come back into UKTV Style, as TUTV viewers miss out on that, and UKTV Style Gardens should become UKTV Gardens.

Yes, i agree, it is a good idea. But i doubt it will happen...

I agree that UKTV Style Gardens should get rebranded UKTV Gardens.

Maybe this might happen when UKTV Style Gardens +1 eventually launches....
