When I installed my HD just over a year ago it was on to an LNB which had worked perfectly for my SKy + however as soon as the HD went on problems started. A mere hint of rain & the box would crash. I checked alignment, swapped the LNB & Cable & still the same. Signal strength was at 50-60% & quality around the same. Despite reading that a bigger dish would make no differance I got hold of a Brand New Zone 2 Dish for £10, Installed it using the same LNB, aligned it & my Signal strength went to 90% & Quality between 90-100% since then I have not had a single box crash, failed recording etc. even in the worst storms.

I know lots will disagree with my findings but I was talking to a ASA installer & his opinion was that the current HD boxes should not be fitted on the standard dish!

Ok I'm not suggesting that everyone fits a Zone 2 Dish (It is a bit ugly) but my point is that these boxes Need a good signal to function correctly.
