I just now overcame my aversion to dialling 0844 numbers and rang Humax on their Support number 0844 6698 800. They are currently playing a recorded message regarding these issues at the start of the call. It's worth a 1 minute call to hear it for yourselves.
To paraphrase the message it identifies the 9150 9300
and the 9200 units and describes the issues as being unresponsiveness of the Remote Control and freezing of the picture. It says that this is due to changes to the broadcast signal and is down to the broadcaster and is not a hardware problem. It says they are addressing the issue with the broadcasters and they (Humax) will be downloading an update to all units in 1 to 2 weeks. More information will be shown on the website

The recorded message did not appear to recognise the slow down issue as being in existence before the recent re-tune and DSO events. So in spite of next receiving the usual "experiencing un-usually high call volumes" message (not surprisong

) I decided to hang on for 20 minutes (ninth in the queue but helpfully got step by step updates to this) before being connected to a member of the Support staff.
I had a detailed discussion at the end of which I concluded that the person I spoke to believed that although the update is expected to cure the issues casued by the recent re-tune events there was no definitive intention to cure any previously existing slow response issues on the 9200. The person I spoke to was un-aware that this issue had existed before the recent changes.and he stated that this may be a different issue. I described my own experience and forum reports from others which demonstrated that it had been around for a long time, possible since the .21 update and he noted this and said he would pass the info on. He confirmed there would be updates for all three models forcasting the 9150/9300 update to be in 2 weeks and the 9200 about 2 weeks later. He advised waiting until the updates had taken place and if issues remained to report these to the call centre or by email to
