Ian Beale's four wives. Who the hell do they think he is, Henry VIII?

As an actress it must be such a disappointment to win a role in Eastenders and then find that your storyline involves getting together with Ian. Adam Woodyatt is clearly there for the duration (and in my mind that's a good thing as I think Ian is a great character) so anybody who marries him is either signing up for a life or death sentence.

In corrie no-one ever parks on the street and if they do their car disappears. The Barlow household is a 2 up 2 down but had several people sharing the two bedrooms at once - Ken, Dreary, Tracy, Peter, Blanche and a toddler. As if!

The hospital in H&A is like the tardis! There is only 1 ward which is constantly re-designed for every type of ilness/injury/major catastrophe.

There is the main reception desk that always stays in the same place but the space in front of it is sometimes an emergency treatment room and sometimes a waiting room big enough to fit the entire cast. (there is some sort of magic moveable wall)

There are 2 rooms one of which always stays the same and the other is ICU/baby unit/physiotherapy room/birthing room or a normal ward.

And everyone gets a private room. They never share with any1 else.

Also rachel (who i think is a great character) started off as a shrink but she now works on A&E and everynow and again performs major life threatening surgery. I though doctors specialised in 1 or 2 areas?

This really bugs me, and it happens in all soaps, people ring some1 on their mobile and they're connected and talkin immediately. Wen i use my mobile it takes a few seconds to connect then the other person has 2 answer so it can be around 10 seconds b4 ur actually saying anything! Also when they are saying something really important the battery dies!

There was a storyline about telepathy between Kirsty and her original twin who turned out to have been swapped at birth and was no relation. There was no telepathy between Kirsty and her second twin who was her "real" biological twin.

Sounds complicated? That's Home and Away!!

This was such a bad plot!

I'm sure that the doctors would have told Shelley that she'd had identical twins when they were born! So they would have soon spotted a problem!

And to be fair, this kind of disproves the original statement, because for the majority of their time in Summer Bay we were expected to accept Jade and Kirsty as twins, and they were non-identical and the same gender.

OOh! Ooh! I've got one!
In Eastenders they all get up at 4am.
They must do! They're all wandering around doing stuff before the market/school/work, leisurely cooking full english breakfasts, drinking tea in the cafe, visiting other houses, etc. Nobody seems to get up at 8am and run around trying to get dressed while eating half a piece of toast or one of those breakfast bars. And markets open really early don't they?

In EastEnders, pointless stalls that sell complete junk seem to thrive. I remember at one point Alfie Moon was making a living selling shit in the market. I mean, who's going to buy a load of cheap, useless tat from a scummy market in the East End of London?

lol, pet hate of mine!

Things the soaps should do to make things more realistic.

Brand Names / Companies
----------------------------------

Auction off advertising to local supermarkets/companies and then show the characters shopping or working in well known places like this i.e. Tesco, Asda, Woolworths.

Have people walk into the pub and ask for a pint of John Smiths or Carling..... come on STAG LAGAR, who'd drink that

Real Live Events
----------------------------------

They should talk about real live events. Now I know episodes are filmed months ahead.. but it wouldn't take much to film the odd snippet of footage of a few people taking about what's happening in the world and then inserting them into a episode/storyline on the day or a few days after the event.

They did that on Brookside when Princess Diana's died. In fact Brookside was the only soap to do it.

In H&A what bugs me is the amount of accidents they have in a year. It's a seaside town for goodness sake I'd move out of there if I lived there I'm watching at Oz pace just now and in the past few weeks theres been an accident or someone fighting for their life every single week.

When characters get married, the bridal party is almost always main characters from the soaps. Characters will only have family members as bridesmaids/groomsmen if they are also main characters.

Also younger characters in soaps never smoke. The only ones I can think of are Steve Mc Donald or Max Branning. I know they don't want to encourage smoking, but realisitically about a third of young people smoke. Even if they just had the actors who smoke in real life smoking, surely some of the soap stars smoke in real life? I don't think anybody smokes in Hollyoaks or in the Oz soaps.

Oh, and that Max ever makes money in EE. What exactly does he do? Makes phone calls and shags around!

I'd assumed that Max is a drug dealer; he spends a lot of time on his mobile, has plenty of ready cash and go on holiday (usually Spain) whenever and as often as he likes.

He talks about 'the business' in whispered terms, seems to have no colleagues or a boss and drives a lot.

In Neighbours no one EVER goes to the toilet. And no one goes in Neighbours without being related.

EVERYONE will leave Hollyoaks either by death, or by getting in the same black cab as everyone else.

Also in Hollyoaks, couples will often plan to run away to start a new life, only to be struck down by tragedy.

No one ever has a career! They all work in the local hairdresser / cafe / pub. (apart from Bradley EE)

Whenever anything dramatic happens in the Vic or the Dog whoever's on the decks / in charge of the juke box turns the music off!!!

Nobody has more than about 4 friends!

On EastEnders, we only ever see the postman when he is giving the mail to characters in the street or outside their houses. He never delivers things through the letterbox.

1. Characters will be told 'You will never, ever have children, it's impossible', only to fall pregnant the next day.

2. When we don't see someones house and they say 'It's being painted', the next time we see it it's had a complete makeover (including the movement of supporting walls).

3. The massively high proportion of murderers living in the street/area.

4. Young people will always, always stay where they grew up and show absolutely no ambition up until about 1 week before their contract ends, when suddenly they will move to the other side of the world for a dream job/relationship.

5. The words 'I've never been so happy' are immediately followed by a death.

Nobody in Corrie has a car and those that do keep loosing them!

Daryll and Mel got a new car which has mysteriously disappeared although they have no garage. Then it reappears again!!!

David has a car which he cant drive and doesn't move... yet that keeps going in and out of the garage as well!

Adam Barlow had a very snazzy car parked outside his house, which (like the Mortons) disappeared and reappeared whenever it's needed.

Or if the do stick with the not being able to have kids then they will ask a neighbour/friend/mother to be a surrogate all of whom will be perfectly fine with being a surrogate. Then the surrogate will ultimately fall for the father of the baby and have an affair.

I've read that they actually do that on one of the South African Soaps.
