SOB STORIES....GRRRrrrrrrr!!!

It's getting beyond a joke now!

I mean...common!!!

Don't they realize that people aspire to their favourite pop stars...fans admire who they are, their lifestyle and want to be like them.

Fans don't buy records of their favourite stars for charitable reasons...to help them avoid going back to their miserable 'single parent', 'family member died', 'dustbin man' and 'dinner lady' lives.

The show is ruining the future career of these potentially good singers, and it's quite saddening.

They did that so much with that dustbin man (I can't remember his name now), and although it might have helped him win a few more rounds on the show, everytime I see him, I think...BIN MAN. Not there's anything wrong with that profession, only that, I shouldn't be associating him with that, but only his performances on the show.

Why do this??? The show is supposedly trying to make new stars...yet it's ruining some of their careers!

Did you notice Simon saying the Beverley something along the lines of "great voice, great story"? Great story?! Is that something necessary for someone to have the X Factor? As if it is a bonus?!

What's disturbing is hearing the hopefuls say things like if they don't go through and win then their lives are basically worthless. That kind of thinking is not healthy and the producers of this show encourage this kind of behaviour. It's distgusting.

Yeah it annoyed me too tonight more than ever! So Emily from Hope's sob story is that she never had any friends at school. Charlie's is because she wants a better life for her and her son (who doesn't?) etc etc. It's really really annoying!!

It's definitely made me like some of the acts less than I did before.

I'm not voting for anyone tonight. I voted last week because I liked some of the performances.

Voting this week would make me feel like I'm trying to improve their standards of living, regarding which I couldn't care less!

True that is bad. They're slagging their old jobs as well. As if an asbestos remover, or dinner lady, or marquee erecter are the worst jobs in the world.

The show also advocating superstitious ideas about deceased people. Not to be insensitive or anything, but I don't mind them saying "so and so would be proud" but these statements like "I'm sure so and so is very proud" and "so and so is looking down on us right now" are only going to give confounded ideas to the children watching the show.

Agreed. Wonder what that was about now that we know he's nothing of the sort. Perhaps SC & Co. realised from the start that he was miles ahead of the competition and had to give him some sort of handicap.

They really dragged the show out tonight. If it wasn't bad enough having one act, then a break, it was all the pointless sob stories.

So please vote for Rhydian, who has no sob story, other than the fact that he was wrongly portrayed as arrogant and dislikeable in the early episodes.

Sob stories annoy me, I've seen more crying on this show than singing! we will vote for the one who has the best voice and actually want to hear them sing and maybe buy their record, not for the one who has the saddest story.
we've all gone through bad things in life, shouldn't expect to go ahaed in life because people are feeling sorry for you!

I can't see how any of these guys will have any friends after this.

Nikki basically went back to her school and, one minute she's hugging her dinner lady friends, and the next, she's saying how special she feels seeing them still slogging away while she's living it up, and how she never wants to go back to that life.

If I were any of those dinner ladies I would be quite offended!

I find it all very off putting. I wish we could have more singing and less tears - no tears or "stories" at all, in fact.

I only really like Same Difference or Rhydian now since they don't go down the Sob Story Route.

Dannii tried to make one for Rhydian with the "he gave up his rugby dream for this" Did He? Did he really? Did just quit rugby the day before X Factor started to become a singer? No, didn't think so.

Same Difference kinda had a sob story, but it was mentioned once and then left completely, about Sarah being bullied.

Louis describes Bev constantly as "Just a Teacher" Niki's Dad dying is a tragedy, and yes its sad, but we know. We don't need her to repeat it constantly, and to be honest, the more she mentions it in order to get sympathy and votes, makes me sick, that she would use her father in that way.

Leon and his single mum thing is also getting super-tiring. Its not like his mum is the only single mum in the country, many successful people have come from single parent families. His whole approach seems to be saying, well Children from single parent families don't amount to anything, look at me, I'm the exception, give me the votes.

And Hope, they have a new one every week.

So as a kick in the teeth to all those "SobStory Artists" I am supporting Rhydian and Same Difference.

Leon lost my vote this week with his pitiful "leaning on a jumper display" sad case act.
