Anyone else had this message on facebook

Hi - 2 people have sent me a message on my wall, claiming to be from the founder of Facebook saying if you don't forward using copy and paste within two weeks your account will be deleted.

Now, 2 things here - first it says "dear facebook membeRs" with a capital R and it insists you use copy and paste to forward it. Does anyone really think the founder of facebook would randomly hit a few peoples wall's if they were looking to close a few inactive accounts. To me it's a sure fire way of spreading malicious code around and I can't believe anyone still falls for this kind of crap.

My bro edited it to this
Quote:
Attention all Facebook membeRs.
Facebook is recently becoming very overpopulated, by people who just forward rubbish on without thinking "is this a load of bollox or not?"
There have been many members complaining that Facebook is becoming very slow. Records show that the reason is that there are too many Facebook members forwarding total shit on for no reason other than they just don't think "is this absolute bollox, am i wasting my time and the time of the person i'm sending it to"
We will be sending this messages around to see if the Munters are active or not, - If you are stupid, please send this email to other users using Copy+Paste to show that you are stupid
Those who do not send this message within 2 weeks, not only the user's account but the user will also be deleted in a messy fashion without hesitation to create more space on this planet for people who use their brains

I had this one:

"Attention all Facebook membeRs.
Facebook is recently becoming very overpopulated,
There have been many members complaining that Facebook
is becoming very slow.Record shows that the reason is
that there are too many non-active Facebook members
And on the other side too many new Facebook members.
We will be sending this messages around to see if the
Members are active or not,If you're active please send
to other users using Copy+Paste to show that you are active
Those who do not send this message within 2 weeks,
The user will be deleted without hesitation to create more space,
If Facebook is still overpopulated we kindly ask for donations but until then send this message to all your friends and make sure you send
this message to show me that your active and not deleted.

Founder of Facebook
Mark Zuckerberg"

Chain mail again me thinks.

I've also noticed that they've changed the online list and how your friends are listed. I prefer the other style.

Not only that but I'm getting really tired of the amount of chain letter/emails clogging up my walls. I hoped my friend would get the hint and stop sending them to me as in nearly every one she sends, it requests me to forward it back to her. In one she sent it read "if you don't send this back to me you will have very bad luck the next day". Obviously that didn't happen but I just don't want the rubbish and wish she would just stop. I would rather receive a proper message from her than a stupid chain mail which she believes proves my friendship to her.

Sorry for the rant.

It's clearly b***ocks. If they want to know whether members are active or not, they just have to look at their own records. Stupid thing is, I keep getting forwarded this stuff by people who really should know better.

Viruses and stuff - if you're using copying and pasting you could be copying hidden stuff that you don't know you've copied

Oh I just delete the buggers, i think nearly all my friends had found it necessary to post it to me so I deleted them as i do with all duplicate posts. The ones that also annoy me are "If someone called (insert name) adds you do not accept blah blah" Oh and the charity begging ones.

That's what you call a response. 13 posts in just over 20 minutes - nice one - and no spam in sight
