No, variety is the spice of life. I don't watch any soaps (that''s right, not one!) but there is plenty of room for all kinds of programming - sports, soaps, documentaries, the lot.

What annoys me most is people who complain every time their favourite programme is moved temporarily from its usual spot, to be replaced temporarily by some other kind of programming they don't happen to like. Even worse is when people start threads about it.

Live and let live I say - there's room for all of it even if the times sometimes have to vary or the odd episode is dropped.

I think I should start watching more stuff on telly..........

Bored with BB..........

I could do with a few 'series' to get in to.........and when i do watch 'series' I do get miffed if they don't appear one week for any reason........

I guess it's just the routine you get into.........ooh, Thursday at 10.30.........must be Heroes time.

So i understand why people are annoyed when their routine is disturbed..........it's annoying !!

Still...........lovin' the footie..............

No way am I sick of it. It seems that in this tournament with the exception of France v Romania, even tedious games end with the most amazing drama.

Football-wise, Turkey have made me unshockable. I'm really fond of them because of their late late show exploits (I've loved injury time goals since 99 ) COME ON TURKEY!

It would be nice to see another big upset, though with Greece winning it last time it's certainly massively against the odds for an unfancied side to triumph again. Shame Turkey have so few players left thanks to injuries and suspensions too. They did have EIGHT players on yellow cards before the match tonight though.

You are under attack because your arguments are pointless and without foundation.

'Cause it aint normally on a Wednesday. BBC, sort it out. Stop the messing of our favourate soaps.
There are numerous sources of information for you to establish the alternative times that Eastenders or whatever are being shown. And if you can't watch or record at those times then use i-player. If you miss something because you're incapable of using a tv guide,or you refuse to watch because it's not being shown at the regular time,be it because of football or for any other reason,it's nobody's fault but yours.

You don't seem to realise that you're doing everyone else's heads in with your continuous nonsenseical arguments.

So when Christmas Day next falls on a Saturday and the BBC show an extra episode of Eastenders will you complain that you missed it because Eastenders isn't normally on a Saturday then? Get a life!

I hate football and most sport.

I may peek at Wimbledon just to see it in HD.

But Euro 2008 is only on about 4 channels altogether.

With hundreds of channels ,piles of dvd and bluray to choose from I dont even notice its on.

You are obviously from the school of thought that still relies on BBC1 and ITV1 for evening viewing.

Even without digital tv you still have 3 others to choose from.

Euro 2008 simply replaces all the other peaktime mass market shit I dont watch either

People who moan that occasional sport moves around soaps get on my nerves.

The soap junk is on everyday - but I expect those who cant work VCR's or PVR's cant understand about broadcasting for everyone

If the changes in schedule make you miss it perhaps you can catch it on one of its umpteen repeats and omnibus repeats.

I agree with you. It is all to do with the normal routine being disturbed.

Basel was amazing on Saturday night - I have never seen so much orange in my life. I'm not a huge football fan but it was quite an experience being in a small city for such a big match

I am not a fan of football but I do enjoy the World and Euro cup , I am enjoying it more this time as we are not being bombarded by the hype of the Home teams as they are not in it

Not a good time for non-sport fans - two weeks of Wimbledon starts here!!

Neighbours fans will probably be glad of the move to Five at this point.

Nope, been a really good tournament so far.

Its only on for 2 - 4 hours a day on one channel. Considering there are 24 hours a day, and over a 100 channels to choose from, it hardly taken over the tv scheduling.

But surely it is fair on them because they are getting to watch the matches without having to pay subscription charges?

I'm not that bothered about the football to be honest, I'm glad that the group stages are over because we had to have different matches on in the living room and kitchen so my husband and son could keep an eye on both games now there's just a few games left it's quite exciting... even if I have to rely on my 7 year old to keep me up to speed with who everyone is, who they play for and what their form is

There were never two games on at the same time, during Euro 08. Looks like you husband and son are pulling a fast one

Actually yes there were - the last two games in every group were on at the same time due to a rule that was brought in years ago that meant the last two games in any group stage of a competition had to be played on the same day and kick off at the same time

Totally ... and I know because I had a dilema of which matches to watch sometimes and not just because cute guys were playing in both matches simultaniously

Well its beginning to feel like it, every evening I go into my little vault in the back bedroom, on the computer, what a lonely life I have.

I don't really mind, as long as it keeps my boys happy, OH and son
